I haven't seen anyone guess this yet, but I think this may refer to a new product. I think it'll be a cordless charging pad for portable Apple products like iPhone, iPod, Magic Mouse, Keyboard, iPad, and maybe laptops. It's something I've definitely wanted for a long time. The center of the media invite is the stem separated from the apple and it's been way too long may mean the cables needed to charge these devices. Instead of having to plug our devices into cables every day, we can just walk in the door and set our devices on these charging pads and they'll start charging up without having to plug in. With this, they could eventually eliminate the need for the materials used in the phone needed for charging via cables, allowing the hardware engineers to create an even thinner, lighter device.

It may also be color options for iPads, other than the gray, gold and silver options people have been talking about.

Maybe it's something flexible as it shows the waviness of the top of the apple logo.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone else point this out.

The prismatic colors, the waveform, the word "long"... it all evokes the image of the electromagnetic spectrum. The longer waves (past red) are infrared and radio waves. The shorter waves (past blue) are ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma.

So, the waves have been way too long, maybe? What would that mean in context of the electromagnetic spectrum? Are radio waves longer wavelengths than TV? Maybe it's a coy way of saying Apple's shifting focus from music (the longer wavelengths for radio waves) to TV.

Maybe that's a stretch but who knows? Either way, interesting riddle.

Should also point out that the way the leaf in the Apple logo is cut off, one can see the image of a classic TV set's rabbit ear antennae.

I think this is pointing to an Apple TV update.

That actually makes sense about how the stem of the apple is cut off making it look like a TV with antennae. Good catch!

Not going to read all the extensive thrread but my strong bet would be that 'it's been way to long' for retina displays in iMacs. It's been runoured for so long. It's been so long since iPhone had retina and now also since MacBook pro.

Its been way too long, so now we've shortened it .... the new iPod Nano 8th gen with iOS Nano. ????
Hopefully Nano will be reduced back to it's 6th gen size.

Or could they be talking about the device unlock passcode?
"It's been way too long at 4 digits so now we've reduced it down to a single digit .... your finger!"
That is to say that the iPad can now be unlocked using a finger print scanner.
:D

What about touchscreen Macs? We've seen patents of them. This looks like the Happy Birthday Mac thing but the colors have moved.

Also, the image reminds me of the old stylus on capacitive screens. Looks like what you would see in a diagram of how it works, only really simplified.

Yup, like Apple Watch and Mac Pro or Swift...No, these didn't have any leak.

There were leaks. Just nothing specific about the actual look.

I also mentioned after that that those products had a release date months after originally being announced. iPads and iPhones etc. are released every year. They are not going to announce it 6 months before release stopping all the sales of the current gen.

New Mini - yeeeessss !

Then there will be the "one more thing" at the end with a surprise, touch screen macbook air ?

It's been way too long since we screwed millions of devices by iOS update... a whole month! Introducing iOS 8.0.3!!!

Gaming.

I've seen some people talk about the return of the Mac...not the iMac, not the Mac Mini, not the Mac Pro, but simply the Mac...

I seem to remember the Mac being 30 years old not that long ago and well...I'm just going to put this here...

So it's probably just going to be an overview of the last 30 years? Not like that's really all that bad, but I hope it has something to do with improvements of the mac

I like your theory about shortening the wavelength. Wireless HomeKit running at a specially secure frequency. Apple TV with HomeKit integration.

Looking back it'll be an iPad even with iPod update then it'll move to Yosemite and Mac updates as the one more thing!

Past teases?

Can anyone point to a page that lists prior Apple announcements like this and then what was actually introduced. I'd be curious to see if the announcements of the past held clues to what was actually revealed.

Hmm, doesn't the leaf look a bit like the tip of a pen? --> the new iPad will have improved stylus support, perhaps increased sampling frequency of the touch sensor to make it even more fluent and penlike.

The pen also presses down in the indentation of the apple. --> Pressure sensitive touch panel.

This would be great on a larger iPad Pro. The experience of handwriting will be the most realistic of any device out there.
