Maybe it is about the iMac, it has looked the same for years now, maybe time for a significant revamp in how it looks.
That would be very inaccurate to say since iMac was redesigned less than 2 years ago with the new thin form factor, without silver bezel, and no optical drive.

Considering that the previous model design was utilized for 6+ years 2 years isn't "way too long", whatsoever.

No Mac mini!

Jessuzz , it will most likely not be any new mac mini or iMac Retina coming, Because of the lack of desktop broadwell cpu. But i think we will see a new MBA why ? , Because broadwell core m is coming out just now , and the MBA is one of the most sold macs there is. It hasent had any major upgrades since 2010 , only cpu and gpu has changed. and that is along time for best selling mac. Note also the many patens we have seen the last years , the new trackpad and the new hinge. So we are getting a new slimmer macbook air , around 1 cm thick to todays 1,7 cm , and a weight of around 800-900 g , and a more round forming design maybe clam design that fits with the new design language we seen in iphone 6. And also retina displays , with around 9-10 battery life ;).

Keep in mind that Mac Mini uses mobile not desktop components.
Yeah forgot that  , then maybe we will see a new mac mini, but its not what the guys in here want. It will be smaller and thinner with no upgrade possible, solide ram and gpu and ssd ;). this could be the thing with "Its been to long" since mac mini and MBA upgrades.

Wishful thinking but maybe a new iPod :confused:

And have their invite logos lost significance and meaning? Or are they running out of ideas?

This happens to be the day after my birthday!

The redesign 2 years ago was pretty minor - evolutionary rather than revolutionary

Been way too long? The products in most need of an update are the iPod Touch, Apple TV, Thunderbolt Display, and Mac Mini.

My best guess, informed yet also made up odds:

IPad Air 2nd gen: 100%
• With 2GB RAM: 70%
• With split screen multitasking: 70%
• With retina HD @3X: 60%

Retina iPad Mini 2nd gen: 50%
• With 2GB RAM: 20%
• With split screen multitasking: 20%
• With retina HD @3X: 0%

The chances are higher that the Retina iPad Mini will stay the same specs and maybe get a small price drop to $349.

iPads going 16/64/128GB: 80%
iPads going 32/64/128GB: 20%
They're going up in capacity, hopefully 32GB but likely similar to the iPhone 6.
256GB iPad: 5% (lol)

Apple TV 4: 50%
• With Siri: 100%
• With App Store: 70%

Mac Mini: 70%
• Redesign: 50%

iMac: 90%
• Retina display: 60%
• Thunderbolt 2.0: 100%
• 30" size: 20%

Thunderbolt 2.0 Display: 70%
• With 4K or higher display: 100%
• With USB 3.0: 100%

I'm just not sure if Apple cares enough to upgrade the iPod Touch? I give it an outside chance of 10% but even that may be generous. It really does need an update though!

Best bets are iPads, iMac, Thunderbolt Display, and Mac Mini. You gotta have new Mac hardware to show Yosemite! I think Apple TV 4.0 might have a shot as "one more thing", but I'm not super optimistic. I also think they might show a little more on the Apple Watch at this event.

I think the February event will be the Apple Watch launch, iPad Pro, MacBook Air Retina (perhaps hybrid with iPad Pro?), and perhaps the Apple TV if it doesn't pan out for this event. WWDC might see a MacBook Pro update. Not sure on the Mac Pro. New Intel chips are coming this spring (delayed from this autumn), but another round of even faster new chips are expected by the following autumn. I'm about 90% sure I'm going to upgrade my Mac next autumn with that line of chips if they aren't delayed. I'm hesitant to get a first-gen Retina iMac.

We also haven't seen a redesign of the Apple Keyboard or Magic Mouse in a long time. Hmmmm…probably next year?

At First Glance - ONLY MEANT 1 THING TO ME !!

I was really surprised when I saw it....because ALL I saw was a STYLUS and a suggestion of a pressure sensitive surface. Now...I could be wrong...(but I doubt it!) it's NOT a finger....it's not part of the APPLE logo....
Yes, it HAS BEEN A LONG TIME without a STYLUS!!

BUT could it have been kept a SECRET this long??? Yes, we've seen patents for years...though. No leaks yet on a prototype or pix from production.
We will find out SOON!

A 12.9" IPAD PRO....WITH A STYLUS !?!? ( That would BE a SHOCK!! )

( A lot of talk here about Mac Mini & IPOD Touch......Really! Do u think they'd make a BIG DEAL out of those announcements...? )
The IPOD may be dying off soon...?? I wish they would make one as powerful as the iphone....BUT....dream on! We have a better chance of APPLE releasing a VR HEADSET for IOS than a new or IPHONE like IPOD.) Almost ZERO chance!
BUT....APPLE is changing! :apple: Larger Phones, WATCHES! Large IPAD....Possible STYLUS!?!?. ( As SAMSUNG profits plunge 60% last qtr!)

The redesign 2 years ago was pretty minor - evolutionary rather than revolutionary
Considering that every iMac since 2004 was evolutionary, 2012 model even though evolutionary had significant design change to the entire rear housing and the entire display assembly manufacturing process, while reducing the overall footprint. I'd call that one the most significant redesign of the past 10 years.

Sorry, can't see the need for a new iMac redesign, quite yet.

To be a global leader like Apple you have to constantly expand your product line and ensure compatibility between all devices. It's an integral part of the basic Apple philosophy; success through simplicity. An all new Apple iClock, given the reference to "too long", is most likely coming. There's no point not offering one when you already have an iWatch line, and it'll put Samsung and Google back to playing catch up again.

It's been way too long...

That we have been using "credit cards" with no security at all, (oh except for a 3 digit "CSV", or a 4 digit PIN number). Apple Pay.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone else point this out.

The prismatic colors, the waveform, the word "long"... it all evokes the image of the electromagnetic spectrum. The longer waves (past red) are infrared and radio waves. The shorter waves (past blue) are ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma.

So, the waves have been way too long, maybe? What would that mean in context of the electromagnetic spectrum? Are radio waves longer wavelengths than TV? Maybe it's a coy way of saying Apple's shifting focus from music (the longer wavelengths for radio waves) to TV.

Maybe that's a stretch but who knows? Either way, interesting riddle.

Should also point out that the way the leaf in the Apple logo is cut off, one can see the image of a classic TV set's rabbit ear antennae.

I think this is pointing to an Apple TV update.

Apple TV and/or Mac mini update.

Then again, you'd think that if that were the case, somebody would have scoured the binaries in Yosemite and iOS 8.1 for string references to new Mac mini or Apple TV hardware, and yelled it from a mountain top, as they did about finding references to Apple Pay in iOS 8.1.
