"It's been way too long" can't be about iMacs and MacBooks.

Yes, I'm talking about you Mac Mini, Cinema Display, and AppleTV.

Maybe it is about the iMac, it has looked the same for years now, maybe time for a significant revamp in how it looks.

And that's what they'll do for their new product or major Mac product categories. Why? because competitors will not have enough time to create copies fast before Apple, so Apple will not rush to production...like MacPro. iPhone and iPad are different because competitors are on hold to wait for what Apple release and change production in the last minutes.

couldnt agree with you more... Take a look at the ammount of leaks from the iPhone and iPad, yet zero from the iWatch and Macs... Also, that's why knockoff company's make what the leaks are a about a month before the real iphone comes out.

'It's been way to long'

Since a new thunderbolt display! 4K???

It better be compatible with my '13 Mac Pro. I didn't shell out $6k+ on a system with dual FirePro D700's for 4k display support to find out that Apple skips 4k for 5k and the latest DP my Mac won't support.

It's a finger touching Touch ID - Touch ID across the board on iPads and Mac's!!! It's been way too long.

Also based upon the depressed bottom line, captive touch sensing your presses hard and soft possibly on the iPad but I am not holding my breath on this part.

I just noticed that it looked like a finger on a wavy surface and skimmed the comments to see if someone caught it. It reminded me of a patent Apple filed years back regarding tactile feedback touch screens (the display could physically change surface form depending on the program in use). Another patent filed this year explores pressure sensitivity using a combination of capacitive touch and infrared light sensing.

The patent describes a method of determining the force of a user's touch on a capacitive screen using infrared transmit lines from transmitters and receivers positioned under the frame of the cover glass. Capacitive touch combined with light would determine both the position of the finger and distinguish a soft touch from a harder touch, allowing Apple to implement gestures that could vary with force.

I wonder if Apple has devices using any of these concepts under wraps.

The Apple logo on the invitation looks like a longwave waveform, so I'm guessing they have finally done deals with all the TV networks to get them all on the TV and away from longwave broadcasting over the air.

"It's been way too long"

An admission that the iPhone 6+ is too long and that's why it bends so easily?

yes it is, actually

"OMG I FIGURED IT OUT

It's been way too long since we took your money"

My last major Apple purchase was this 2009 Mini. They haven't had anything that interested me since. I don't care for an iPhone, or an iPad, and I already have an iPod. Mac Pro is overpriced, and I don't like the the iMac's screens.

And since it is my money, I'm sitting on it. However, the mini is showing it's age, so I could be persuaded to part with some green paper rectangles.

But if they neuter the new mini the same way they did with the new low-end Macbook, I'm out of Apple land. I can get a nice Dell Optiplex with Windows 7 instead. The small format desktops at work are actually quite nice.

We'll see what happens next week.

Better bezel!

Home button with finger-print sensor "ghost" designed on the actual display of new iPads - reducing bezel to 3mm wide all around!

theorys:

my theorys about this

1. too long since the IMAC was called Macintosh (I.e dropping the I)
2. too long since the IPOD line was updated ( new ipods including the classic)
3. too long since we thought different ' hinted at the iphone 6 event ( return to think different and coloured logo)
4. too long since steve's death?

I'd love to see a thinner iPad mini. I am seriously thinking of using it as my regular phone (using FaceTime audio and Skype).

Think about it: The current iPad mini still fits in my pocket, has a bigger screen than the 6+, and is $10/m data access vs $40/m.

The iPod classic is dead. It just is. I wouldn't be shocked at a 256GB iPod touch in a new line that replicates the size of the iPhone 6. Then Apple satisfies the high capacity crowd without needing to use such an outdated product.

A neat little surprise would be to see the iPod nano revert to the square shape that people used as a watch with some customization. Use the Apple Watch OS, install just the fitness trackers that your $99 competitors like Fitbit use and make it an iPod/budget fitness device. I'm guessing this would've been announced with Apple Watch had it been real, but it's a neat idea.

New Apple TV I would assume.

I would love to see a new iPod classic though.

Yay! New Macs! With a shorter power chord!

Uh, why would you want a shorter power cord? If anything some of my Macs don't have a long enough power cord.

They've been on version ten of their OS too long, and now MS is about to catch up

MAC OS ELEVEN

我好激动啊!

Now there's only left to hope I can at least STREAM the event.

Justin Long is coming back as Mac!

EDIT: Dang, oldaaplexec beat me on page 8.

I know Apple never points out specs like RAM but do you guys think we'll know before the release if it'll have 2GB of ram be it leaking? Do credible specs usually leak before or do we have to wait till tear downs.
