Apple Invites Media to October 16 Event: 'It's Been Way Too Long'

I think the iPod's future will be talked about here. The iPod has been neglected for way too long. Past that I think new Mac Minis and Apple TV's are an outside chance, as is new iPads.
 
My kid is 2yrs old

has an ipad mini and plays learning games, some youtube (guilty) and the kids at her day care have cheap pads like samsung and those $50 walmart tablets but all want the IPAD she has! crazy i know. :apple:

No, they did have a few models of it - the journalists got to go and have a close up look after the keynote.
But they could have been models produced solely within the design labs at Apple, where they can control the staff!

We got our son an iPod Touch for times when we don't want to let him have his iPad, but his situation is not typical, so I wonder given the ubiquity of iPhones with enough storage for most people's music what the market for the iPod really is any more.

What it's been way too long since is the Thunderbolt Display being updated. Priced at a grand and it still has friggin USB 2.0.
 
Is it just me, or do those graphics suggest the tip of a stylus poised over an iPad Pro?

Good point. All new iPod touch & nano? 128GB version? iTunes 12 with HQ music downloads available?
 
Obvious choices would be the mini and the Apple TV, but are either of those products important enough for a media event? I'd guess a new product is coming. If the Apple TV was a home automation hub and replaced a cable box, that would justify an event I think.

More I think about it, an updated Apple TV that streams CATV makes sense. I hate the interface on my TWC box. We have been using archaic interface for TV "way too long".
 
New Mac Mini
New Thunderbolt Displays
New iPod Touch and iPod Nano
New iPod Classic...no I went too far!! :p
