They did a pretty good job on the new Mac Pro. Not one single leak revealing the new form factor or even a hint. So I think they can manage a secret still. Not that I agree a new product category is coming.

Except they revealed it in June, only to ship it in December. God I hope that´s not what´s coming with iMac Retina and Macbook Air Retina 12".

I want "in stock tomorrow!" on all of these.

It´s been way too long can mean just about anything you want. For me it´s been way too long since the MacBook Pro Retina without an retina iMac or 4K display. It´s been way too long since Apple TV was updated seriously. It´s been way too long since MacBook Air got a new design, what is it 2008 or so since it was introduced?

Anything and everything.

The graphic above is a zoomed in piece of the Mac 30th birthday artwork. So maybe the return of coloured iMacs?

It's been way too long.

"It's been way too long." yea for Mac mini, ipod, retina iMacs and Mac airs, and Thunderbolt display updates that is.

iPad has had the same user interface since day one, and THAT was just a playing it safe, almost straight port over from the 4" mobile phone.

It's been WAY TOO LONG like that.

Perhaps they have finally realized a 10" screen deserves a far better user interface than dead icons with continental gaps between them on a background picture.

This. I've been saying for months that something about the iPad feels intrinsically outdated. I couldn't put my finger on it but I think you've just hit the nail on the head. Something about the iPad needs to change and I don't think it should be hardware first.

It's all about Yosemite…

"It's been too long" that Mac OS X and iOS have been apart. The giveaway is the colored outline of the Apple logo. It's a visual cue taken from the iOS 8 logo. They're finally unifying the two OSes in appearance (flatter UI for Yosemite) and functionality (Handoff, Continuity, iCloud Drive).

Maybe it's just a vacation announcement. They have been awfully busy lately.

Too Long. Justin Long. Wait for an iAd discussion and new commercials featuring Justin Long and John Hodgman. I'm a Mac is back.

Plus new iPads and a 27" Retina iMac.

"It's been way too long" possible references

iPhone: obviously not
iPad: seriously doubt it, unless referring to it's lack of touchID
iMac: just had a redesign 2 years ago. Retina reference? seriously doubt it
Mac mini: while very outdated, do you really think the mac mini is an important enough device to be the focal point of an event?... case and point
iPods: No these aren't important to Apple
Macbook air: doesn't really make sense, because no one really thinks the mba is outdated.. so unless its a something revolutionary, which brings me to...
iPad pro/iOSbook Air: this kind of a hybrid device would make sense from the tagline, but I don't really see Apple releaseing this product
Apple TV: I think this is the most logical. Haven't had a h/w update in years. Better hardware is needed for homekit integration. Been wanting an app store for a long time. There is basically a lot of directions Apple could take this device in.

Hopefully we see a HD Retina iMac 4k would be nice 5 K would be better. And maybe all with SSD Well we can always hope

Oh crap probably just referring to not having a gold iPad option.

That would suck, Apple gets our hopes up and Tim says the wait is over you can now get your iPad and iPhone in matching gold.

New Mac Mini, new Thunderbolt displays, but can't see a retina iMac. The sheer power required to push that many pixels, I don't see them fitting that gpu in there, at least at any reasonable price and not without mediocre performance.
