Taking bets.

What do you bet they have the iPhone 7S / 7S+ and the new phone is...

:apple: PHONE

I’ll take that bet!
Is $50 too much....?
Also, straight up- or odds?
Last question: gentleman’s agreement to pay via PayPal, or do you want to use an escrow betting service that holds both of our cash, pending the outcome?

That's not to say that developers or analysts have found everything there is to be known about the new iPhone with the HomePod code. Not to mention, we don't know the accuracy behind all of those leaks either.

True. Hopefully there will be a few fun surprises.

Yup. This new iPhone will NOT I repeat NOT be named iPhone 8. I wish people would stop using that name as matter of fact.

Although, as daring as a complete name change would be - for such an established brand - I can kind of see Apple Phone being a thing.

They always make those promotional videos for the introduction of a new iPhone and I always wonder who they are that they get to see the upcoming iPhone early. Are they actors that are under a heavy NDA or employees?

It's hard to believe that they'll hold their first event at Steve Jobs theatre and not reflect on the past in some way.

This event has nothing to do with when the iPhone will actually be released. This is just an introduction. Think about the devices introduced in the last Apple event that have yet to see the light of day.
Do you wanna bet me the iPhone doesn't come out by the end of September???

For AT&T users, what's the best way to upgrade your iPhone once Apple starts taking orders? Apple Store app, AT&T app or ? Perhaps this should be in a different thread or forum but, I don't post much so, if it is, please advise.

Thanks

Apple store app. Always works flawlessly for me. I upgrade through the apple store app using ATT next.

can't wait to upgrade my iPhone 6 to the 6S simply for the wireless "Hey, Siri" feature. I'm not ready to give up the headphone jack either...

Anyone else really interested to see what kind of display or projection system they have in Steve Jobs Theater? I bet it's utterly ridiculous. They could do some pretty crazy stuff with the stage too. Not sure what, but they have so much money and everything is custom made just for their presentations.

I don’t know about that.

If you thought Apple ditching the headphone jack would cause a huge stir in media, having the iPhone being changed to Apple Phone would be beyond what we could ever imagine.

I think they can up the resolution and the battery life will stay be best in industry. Just the switch to OLED will help the same way it's been helpful to Samsung phones for the past few years - and they've have poor battery life. Now if there is something unique about these displays, expect Apple to save even more battery power by integrating the tech into the OS, another thing that Samsung nor any Android phone can do.

I want to agree with you in regards to Apple being able to offset any power usage increase due to resolution, I really do. But I have yet to encounter an Android device that can last all day, and things only got worse once 2k screens became the norm over there.

On the flipside, with the apparent push into 4k, a higher res screen would only make sense.
