Ermahgerd! I leave the house for literally just a few hours and Apple finally announce the Keynote date…

Counting down and will be tuning in. Preordering a 6S plus..

Would like to see a new Apple TV as well, but doubt its coming. Maybe like the watch it will be a reveal for a later production date. Will have to choose which of my two ATVs gets repremanded to the spare duty in the bedroom ;)

Well played by Apple (vs. their static paper/email hints of old), and I suspect that Siri's answers may change a little as the date draws near.

The auditorium has multiple seating arrangements. The :apple:Watch event was at Flint center, which has a capacity of 2,300. They could cut the floor space for displays and such and only invite 4,000.
Even still, thats almost double what they invited to the Apple Watch event. And that was full of fashion industry types. So I repeat my question: Who was invited to this? TV/entertainment industry people? Fashion industry people? Car industry people? The answer to this question will reveal with much more certainly what exactly is the big new product. I'm guessing entertainment news media types...

  • Or, the wavey graphichs will replace the current line for Siri on iPhone (most likely on iOS 9)
I'm running iOS 9 beta - we already have the colorful wavy space for the Siri input screen.

Isn't the beta publicly available? I wouldn't know - I get it through the iOS dev program.

Yes - I have the public beta of iOS 9 and it does have the wavy Siri graphic.

I also noticed that in the Podcasts app update, that Siri has more functionality to play specific shows - which I thought could be related to the Apple TV. Like if I told her "play an episode of New Girl," she would maybe ask me which episode or offer to open Hulu or Netflix.

Just a wild guess based on the 'hint'... New Apple TV is going to function like Amazon Alexa even when the TV is off. No external Mic or Speaker needed. It'll all be integrated in the new Apple TV.

It does seem like Apple TV will be playing a big part in the upcoming event, what's more interesting is the lack of leaks, there have been no leaks. Apple have this one tied up tightly by the looks of it.

But there have been leaks. Not photos and the like, but we know pretty much exactly what the hardware will be, including the presence of a touch and voice operated remote. We just have a pretty limited understanding of what the OS will be capable of.
