Here is my report from my own iPhone 6 Plus bend testing at the Apple store in the Fashion Valley mall in San Diego.
The first thing I noticed is that from all the iPhone 6 Plus on display, at least one was already slightly bent (about 2mm).
I myself performed bend tests on two separate iPhone 6 Plus, both of which appeared in perfect shape and looked very new. The things to keep in mind is that I am employed at a major University and thus did not want to make a scene; and, in the spirit of full disclosure, I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and thus my hands are stronger than those of the average pencil pusher. For these reasons, I did not perform the bend test in its usual form. In order not to draw attention to myself I was pretending to be oohing and aahing over Apple’s newest magical gadget. I was holding the iPhone 6 in front of me (looking at the screen), with my thumbs each pressing the topmost front left and right corners, while my index and middle fingers where pressing from the back in the area where the cutouts for the volume controls are (the palms of my hands where resting on the sides of the iPhone toward the bottom). The result is that it was shockingly easy to bend the iPhone 6 Plus even with this awkward technique. Also worth noticing is that both iPhones I tested were slightly warm. Of course (to avoid detection), I did not go for complete destruction (with screen popping off), and stopped bending once the bend was about 3mm.
In conclusion, thanks to my above average grip strength I was able to quickly bend two iPhone 6 Plus in a highly awkward situation and using a very ineffective bending technique. I can only imagine how easy it would be to bend the iPhone 6 Plus using the procedures shown in most youtube videos.
PS: Too bad (for obvious reasons), I could not publish my findings on the iPhone bending report site: http://www.oneofthenine.com/

#bendgate is real
