You can now autocomplete URLS in safari (don't remember seeing this in 3.x at all)

In the iTunes store when searching out movies you can now view a content review from rotten tomatoes.

Is there anyway to make the wallpaper for the home screen and the lock screen different? My sister can't figure it out on her 3gs and I have a lowly first generation, so I don't get to bask in the wonder of ios4

Neither of those are new. I'm fairly certain autocomplete of URLs has been there since 1.0.0.

Go to Wallpaper in settings and click on the image after that it asks you if you want both to be the pic or just one.

You can now send a mass text message to more than 9 people the cut off used to be 9 but I just sent the same text to 14 people from work. I don't know what the max is though.

Was there a limit? I sent a text message to 17 people in one go before the update

Well I do not use iTunes for videos at all, just music, so I appologize for being wrong :p

As for the autocomplete I do not remember it being there.

Anyone on 3.x wanna test it out and report back?

Yep it was there.

Google search in safari has suggestions now which werent there before

In app texting

In the iOS 4.0 keynote Steve talked about a quick reply like feature for in app texting that developers could use for replying to a text while still in their app.

Why didn't apple apply this feature to the stock apps? I know we have fast app switching but still, you'd think it wouldn't be hard to implement or that it would come built in for the stock apps

Voice memo app never used to rotate upside down when viewing your recorded messages, now it does so that when recording upside down you don't have to flip your phone back around.

That is what I was hoping for. I still have to restart certain games that I am in the middle of to send a text. Sucks.

Viewing albums in the iPod app has a new iTunes Store kinda look.

And the format of the autocomplete URLs has been updated, though the feature itself isn't new.

I'm not talking about third party apps, I kind of figured if apple was to mention in app texting that they would implement it in the apps that are provided with the phone. But they didn't do that.

I also think apple kind of stunted of the in app texting, there is a great JB app called QuickReply which was a great feature, it would give the option to

  1. Close
  2. View
  3. Reply

You could also in the settings change view to call. When you clicked reply it would then bring up keyboard overtop of the existing app.

Just a small change, but when you start typing an address in safari, and it brings a list of suggestions up......as soon as you touch the list, the keyboard now disappears.

A welcome change I think......especially in landscape :)

Definitely was there, but there is a major difference, it now lists them with their history's title page name in big bold letters, and the url below, it used to just be the url in normal text. I think it is "searching" more than autocompleting now because it comes up with suggestions in a different order than it used to. I used to use this feature all the time for my common sites instead of painfully browsing through my huge hierarchy of bookmarks. Have to change the bit of text I type to get the right suggestions now :)

i get a different ringtone for my bluetooth car kit. the only thing that has changed is the update so i assume it has to do with that?

anyone else confirm?

Stereo Bluetooth headphones

Now when you have stereo Bluetooth headphones connected, you can control the volume from the iPhone. This wasn't possible before. You still can't change the track in the iPod app, but you can pause.

How to get rid of the iPod task? It's always on.

I don't think you can. It's the default music player. However, I don't thinks it's really running per se, but gives you the ability for quickly controlling your iPod. If you had double-clicking controlling your iPod controls before, it's just the same thing.
