Everything About The Contents Of The Ad Are On Post #162

The "french woman" is Audrey Tatou, playing Amélie, the main character from "Amélie From Montmartre" ("Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulain"), but I guess somebody must have beaten me to it...
The details are on Post #162 at this link.
its on apples site now first thing when yo go to apple.com:)
Yes but three different 4:3 sizes plus one 16:9 (848x496) Fake HD, not iPod compatible, copy are at this page inside the iPhone Section of the site.

Redundancy runs rampant on this thread except for my shot list. :D

Interesting name tactics

What I find really interesting is the addition of the Apple image before the iphone on the apple website. Its quite obviously a result of the Cisco spat. I personally do not like apple's usage of an image in their product names (makes it more difficult to refer to), but I am sure that its not going to be an impediment to the products' success, if the products are good by themselves...

I was rather intrigued by the use of "Hello".

Made me think back to the original lisa/mac hello campaign. What do you think?

Maybe the next ad will just be the phone, being turned on - and it will say HELLO on the screen? Damn that would be a nice throwback

(I'm a dreamer)

You Win!!!!

Don't worry. I'll bet my last dollar that a link on Apples home page will soon say "Watch the new iPhone ad!"

They will get much more mileage out of this than a single airing. :) :apple:

Happened as you predicted!

What you on about? Its been like that the whole time, the :apple: logo has been before the iPhone since day 1

I never thought a 30 second ad would ever be this over analysed ever! Whoa!

Wow

Just watched the HD version. Looks and sounds a little better but why did Apple say "Hello" in text and then "Coming in June" instead of "iPhone?" Some people don't even know the iPhone exists so I bet we're going to have a bunch of people now thinking the iPhone is called "Hello" and will be talking about "Dude, did you see that Hello thing that Apple is introducing in June?" Looks sweet! I don't know what it is but it looks cool.

And from the picture on the commerical, if I had no idea the iPhone exists I would have no idea what that device was other than an electronic gadget.

Sorry, but Apple's Marketing Team missed the mark on this one as far as conveying the important message goes, which is that Apple is now entering the cell phone market.

And Windows aired four "Wow" commercials, never once mentioning Vista.
This is the new trend, for now......

First thing that struck me was the new typeface at the end for "Hello" and "Coming in June". Any graphic designers wanna give an arch major a shout out for what the new font is. I expect it is Apple's new default.:)

Cameron Diaz

The Cameron Diaz clip was actually from "Charlies Angels" when she was rescuing Bill Murray her boyfriend, Luke Wilson, phoned. :p

Yep, that was definitely the clip from "Charlie's Angels" (2000)
speaking into her little red hot chili Nokia 9690, black in back,
standing outside the chamber where Bill Murray was being held
prisoner. Good call!

Saw it on TV, had no clue it was an apple commercial until the end.

Same here, except I tuned it out before the end came and never noticed it. LOL. Too many hellos to keep my attention. I would've kept watching if there was a floating apple logo or something. I was waiting for it too!

This whole thread is a perfect example of how TV and the internet are merging.

Apple knows that eventually everyone will use the net to download programing and videos.

AppleTV will be a big hit and the iPhone will compiiment it nicely.

They will have a really hard time keeping up with demand for these two products in 2 years .

Kids will all want the iPhone to share videos and the parents will have the AppleTV to help them out.

I saved the movie as a quicktime movie to my Mac but I don't see any controls for it in Quicktime when the movie it's playing. No play, pause, rewind, etc.
Anyone else noticing this? Also under movie properties it says it was created with LiveStage Pro.

Thanks to all who gave me corrections. Keep the corrections coming. :D

Aaack! The Bogie movie isn't Key Largo. I'm pretty sure it's The Maltese Falcon which was in 1942, I think. Ah, crap, it was 1941, but anyways yeah. That's Mary Astor's head. Otherwise great job, and quite impressive! :p :D

Also, I absolutely love this commercial. How perfect for Oscar night.

Edit: Also wanted to say to the people that think Apple didn't do a very good job in getting their message across...it had people answering phones more than 30 times. Crap, if that doesn't do it...

At this point I admit that I've not seen the advert nor have I read the posts by others on this subject but I do just want to say that we really must be in a state of slow news if a sodding teaser advertisement can be considered something worthwhile to write about. Seriously, who cares?

I can only hope that something happens in the Mac/Apple world so that we can talk about something more worthwhile than a commercial.

Apologies to those who don't think I'm showing the "right spirit" on this.

That's nothing! What kind of slow night must it be if it's worthwhile to write about OTHER people writing about a teaser ad?

A slow news night talking about Apple's new commercial is better than a really slow news night if the only thing to talk about is vista.
