What I don't understand is, with all the talk and animosity towards Apple and Macs with their advertising as more secure, that no one has bothered to code a proper effective virus to infect the millions of systems already out there to prove a point. :p

Yeah, working on that as we speak...hang on a second...

Sorry, but I just don't buy that. I cannot believe that out of 6 billion people, nobody, during the 7 years of OSX being outthere, felt compelled to write a succesful virus for the system and garner the "fame" that this would bring.

Mac market share is still far too low to bother with viruses.

Actually, they have. Macs have been affected by Melissa, Oompa Loompa and others. The idea that Macs are safe from viruses is a myth.

However, it's true that Macs have far less viruses for them than Windows just as its also true that most viruses get onto systems because of stupid behaviour rather than any effort by the virus writer. Again it's a myth that all PCs will have a virus at some point in time.

just heard on the radio

clicky

Macbooks and iphone or itouch....I might pull a Rodney Dangerfield and go back to school.

My dept. is 100% Apple products.
The majority of students and staff use Macs as well.
Strangely, our building's seminar/smart (AV) rooms are all set up with machines running Windows software, but it works, so that's fine.
