"They would never get rid of the home button."

Replace "home button" with "optical drive" and remember how that went! It's possible. Excited to see next week!

That's a very good point. There seems to be too many flaws in the photo though.

Home button

Has anyone else tried to use an app like garage band specifically while recording a keyboard part, where u use like 4 or 5 fingers and you mistakenly use a mulitugestures.. Home button is needed. I have it turned off

Ok, so my question is only halfway related since I don't plan on buying an ipad regardless (the only way I'd consider it is if they made a 7" one or around that size, and it probably still isn't important enough to me to get one honestly since I'm on a tight budget and really can't justify it).

So, is this where they would introduce the new iOS when they were releasing iPhones around June? (basically I want to know if this is the real teller on whether it's June or October. I think it makes more sense to be October but I can't say I am not hoping it is June since I don't want to wait til October).

Also, related, yeah, the iPad could be in landscape mode but usually they show these pictures in portrait with the button, right (or am I wrong on this? I seem to recall that usually you see portrait mode)? So maybe there is something to read into the fact the ipad is in Landscape mode (I do believe it is cause if you look the bottom bar icons are spread out a lot more than they would be in portrait... they look too spread out to me but then I have to remember probably cause in landscape).

And to think no one will want to buy this thing because it could be thicker, it could be heavier, it could be more expensive. Surprised that the pundits aren't popping in touting their non-Apple tablets.

Me, I will be looking at buying one. :D Need to decide if I am going to keep my iPad 1 or sell it. If I give it to the wife and kids then the iPad 3 will be free and clear for me to use.

just a thought

anyone else find it strange that maps, calendar and keynote are in the dock? not the standard arrangement.....

If it's upside down, where is the camera?

True. We could also ask where the metallic back is as well, as it's clearly black in the image. If the "leaked" images of the iPad 3 case that MacRumors has posted are at all true, it has a strip of black backing at the top of the device. That would match the iPad 3 being upside down in their invite pic.

Just playing devil's advocate here. Removing the home button isn't any more likely than the device being upside down.

If you had an iPad with no home button you could wake it up by either pressing the sleep/wake button or opening a smartcover. Lots of people have smartcovers. :)

On the bottom short edge like it has always been? This is the landscape view.

The spacing of the dock icons suggests otherwise.

Its jailbroken!!!
