'tis annoying how many people think that just because they do not instantly understand the picture they're looking at, and how it came to be, they assume it's a fake.

If you can't even comprehend setting a device's date as a means to stage a photo, credibility for remaining critiques is gone.

What about the iPod Touch? Too obvious? I will wildly speculate and predict an advancement in tactile feedback. That would be lovely but is unlikely.

EDIT: Which is to say, what if they gave the iPod touch more parity with the iPhone/iPad?
 
Can't wait.. honestly aside from the retina display (which isn't a very big deal for me) I really want solid apps that will use the retina. Like so far there aren't many apps that the iPad 1 can't run (other than garageband and maybe iMovie I think).

I agree with the OP. Ive looked at my iPad from every angle and I don't see how this is shadow or lighting. the only way not to see the metal with my current iPad is to look from above. Looks like a black finish on the black or just around the edges.

I think the guys at Disney have been trying to tell us for a long time that their technology will be available in an :apple: Tablet:

and what better way to replace the physical home button that with a digital one that you can feel/touch on the screen.

That's my theory... then again I also have the theory that Bob Marley was really killed by the CIA...:rolleyes:

I did the math. I know the date. But they have used the date as a play on other things. Like the March 2nd Date to introduce the ipad 2. This also can refer to the fact the ipad will be avail that day and thus you will be able to see and touch it on the 7th.
 
If anyone takes a closer look and thinks about the marketing...

"We have something you really have to see. And touch."

Think iPod Touch think iPad Touch!

We have something for you to see 'iPad 3 with retina display' oh and one more thing 'iPad 3 Touch'.

Take a close look at the buttons on the picture seen over at http://mashable.com/2012/02/28/ipad-3-event

in the box below is a big box showing "8 iPad 3 Rumors", look at the spacing of the icons in the dock. They are at least, if not more than 1 icon width apart. Now look at the apple invite, the icons are less than 1 icon apart in space. The finger gives a perspective clue on the distance and is a very big hint.

We have something for you to see = 'iPad with retina display'
and touch = 'iPad Touch'

Elementary my dear watson... Of course I am speculating maybe someone else can confirm my suspicions?

What would be very humorous is if this event was completely about the next iPod touch, and NOTHING was said about the iPad.

Apple's stock would go down like $50 immediately.

I could buy lots of Apple stock.

Then the next day Apple says an iPad announcement is on March 14.

Apple stock goes back up $50.

I profit, and buy my whole family iPads.

If only........
 
Anyone heard on the results from the NSA and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency analysis on the Apple iPad photograph?

Not likely. Your fingers look thick and chubby... Apple's photo is much closer to my hand.

Also... I'm not sure why people are thinking it's so out there to get rid of the home button... what is wrong with the gesture?
