I agree with this.

Given the proportion of the finger to the screen, and the slight silver trim around the black bezel, this looks more and more like a touch TV. That on initial glance seems like an iPad 3 because apple knows that's what we're all revved up about.

Very clever apple!

Why on earth would anyone want a touchscreen TV?

For one, we have remote controls for a good reason- people didn't want to have to TOUCH the TV to use it.

For seconds, let's talk smudges. After light use of an iPad the thing is covered in fingerprints. Do you really want to have to clean your TV screen multiple times a day in order to have a nice, smudgeless picture? Not to mention you can't clean a touchscreen with typical TV friendly cleaners so now we're talking more money.

I'm not saying Apple is working on a TV, I'm sure they are- but I think if/when it gets released we will see it being controlled by existing iOS devices and voice commands. I think voice commands on a TV is also pretty stupid but that's a whole other issue.

So expect an improved Maps app.

Don't think so – At least not yet. I think it's just saying "Where, When, What" with the icons. Apple has used the maps icon in past invites to indicate where the event will be held (1 infinite loop).

Kids. I'm gonna poke a hole in your no home button theory.

The invitation is a photoshop job.

Please note the following :

The calendar icon is in focus.
The other icons are not in focus.
The bubbles are in focus also.

if this were a macro zoom photo the bubbles would not be in focus.

And unless Apple can go forward in time the calendar icon shows a future date. Making it a Ps job.

Obviously the photo was photoshopped. Just about every photo used for anything nowadays is PS'ed. But Apple wouldn't PS the home button and purposely change the look of their product for the sake of mystery. I'm not saying their wont be a home button. I'm just saying Apple wouldn't remove it from the photo. It just makes no sense whatsoever.

And u can't be serious about the calendar being set to a future date, can u?

YOURS is the theory that holds no weight.

Steve Jobs famously required every shot of Apple products to be done right on the camera. All of their product images are minimally photoshopped or not photoshopped at all.

About the home button thing... we've seen parts for the iPad 3 that have a space for the home button already, haven't we?

Wonder if they've finally got this down, and that's why the second sentence fragment "And touch" was added?

I think ur on to something. This is the best interpretation of the invite wording thus far. Touch was throwing me off. No way apple would put "touch" as a clue for a 3rd generation touch screen tablet. But what u have shown makes total sense. And also solves the no home button issue.

That MIGHT be real? Let's believe possible leaked parts over actual Apple images. :)

While this may be true for the online photography, from my time at 2 Retail Stores, the in-store wall displays were sometimes not photos at all, but rather very good Adobe Illustrator drawings which were Photoshopped to look like the real thing.

New iOS update and AppleTV

Although excited about the iPad 3, I'm hoping we will see some hints at a future iOS update coming soon. I think they need to move Siri out of beta and give it some extra features and functionalities.

I'm also hoping we will be seeing some new AppleTV announcements! New hardware and a big software update (using Siri on iPhone to control the AppleTV would be awesome!)...

7 days of suspense! :D

i'm really looking forward to this. hopefully all the rumors are true this time!
Such unbridled enthusiasm can only lead to disappointment.

"See" = retina display.

"Touch" = touch-sensitive bezel, home button perhaps replaced by bezel gestures.

SOC A5X = A5 with 1.2 GHz clock speed and "four times" the graphics power.

Slight increase in thickness to accommodate a second backlight, and the extra thickness allows for the iPhone 4S camera and a larger battery to be incorporated. Battery life will remain almost the same due to increased backlight power requirements.

Wish I could agree that haptics are incorporated in the display, but that tech is not yet ready for prime time in a slim , lightweight tablet. In addition, Apple is not ready to enter the 7" tablet market at this time.

Siri will be added and will have at least one additional language.

iPad 2 will continue in a low-end configuration for $399 (to be a bit more competitive with the Kindle Fire and its ilk), with a moderate (no more than $100) price increase for the new iPads.

ATV 3 gets A5 processor and (finally) 1080p output.

When it comes down to it, the main focus of the event will be the upgraded display and the graphics power to use it. Anything more will be a pleasant surprise.

I don't believe the Apple could have an Apple TV available for announcement in a week and us not know about it. But I do have to say after seeing all the pictures of people trying to figure out if this is portrait or landscape and such, that no one has shown a picture with a hand even remotely this small. Really that hand looks tiny compared to the app icons. And the hand doesn't look like a child's hand either. I don't know what is going on. Perhaps just bad photoshopping where they got some proportion wrong as the hand was not originally in the picture. It could be as simple as that. Or perhaps it was just a really really small hand model. But I don't even think that is a hand model, because frankly that isn't that great looking a hand. There are some issues with the finger nails that, while fine for a normal person, would presumably preclude someone from being a person who's hands are specifically chosen to be photographed.
It is just a little strange.

I hope ur extensive Apple product knowledge is better then ur grammar and punctuation:rolleyes:

Get a grip dude.

Put your money where your mouth is and bet me whatever you want that the home button stays for at least the next couple of years. Don't use your dad's credit card though big mouth...

hmmmm.

I think that children are the most valuable thing in the world. Here's to future generations getting to use Apple's products!

I think that there are certain aspects that make it somewhat clear that PS was involved (the reflection, the way the hand's glowing where it's not really exposed to such bright light, etc), but like others have said... I don't think they'd intentionally forget something like the Home Button when PSing a premiere product, unless they tried to mess with people and I don't think they've ever done that with invitations. There are times where people read too far into invitations but I don't know if this is one of them.

And I think someone pointed out that you can change the date and time in the settings, I haven't done this yet but maybe that's how they did it.
