You're not taking into account the difference in resolution.

If the rumoured Apple TV 3 with 1080p is released then I'll be placing an order immediately.
I also hope that iOS 5.1 is released at the same time to fix the battery life and Invalid SIM bugs on the iPhone 4S

This little nugget caught my attention too. Although I could be digging a little to deep. Guess I'll have to wait till the 7th.
or it could be the fact that the iPad has a touch screen.
God I really hope they have made Safari snappier.
This is definitely bad news for the other tablet makers. The iPad 3 will make the competition's tablets look like Etch-A-Sketch's.

It's amazing how far behind everyone else is in the tablet game.
Before anyone freaks out, the iPad could be in landscape orientation.

I think that if it were the "iTV." We'd have a better idea it was coming. Also an "iTV" probably qualifies under a product that Apple can built and shape it's future around (like iPhone, iPad See the Forbes Article from a few days ago), which means it would most likely need it's own event.

Im also excited because this will most likely mean the release of iOS 5.1 along side the new iPad
That would be terrific if Apple launches iPad 3 on the following Friday. I have vacation days scheduled for Thursday-Friday. This will be my first iPad. I put off iPad and iPad 2 just because I could not see myself using one enough. With all of the apps and features available now, I think the time has come.
