Well then what's going to happen when another new iPad comes out and they have 2 new ipads or skip a number?
Can every hyper-righetous nut who ranted about how only idiots think the next iPhone will be called iPhone 5 be named and shamed? Maybe their description could turn from "macrumors regular" to "scientologist"?

i realize shadows have different lengths, but whenever i think of a shadow i think of one stretched out. my point is that the 5 IS longer than the 12 so that could be a hint at a longer screen
Seriously? I specifically mention the least important part of my post is the 5 inch screen or 5 products. And that's the part you focus on?!? Seriously?
I wasn't trying to start a new rumor, I was pointing out that 5 could mean lots of things. And there are multiple rumors about multiple products (shuffles, nanos, touches, minis, iPhones). But I do want credit if I'm right
Of all the large amount of leaks, none have suggested a 5" screen.
The invite says "It's coming" (A single item) not "They're coming" (5 products).
You should put your post in the Signature section so everyone can see you are wrong when it's clearly going to be called iPhone 5.
I'm an adult, I've learned to accept that I'm occasionally wrong.
It would blow my mind that the called the 3rd iPad "The new iPad" and they will call the 6th iPhone the "iPhone 5"!
And not to point out you're wrong, but it does not say that "It's coming", what it says is "it's almost here" (it's only three words). Yes, the 12th is almost here.
Okay, I'll agree with you, it does sound like more like one item (and not a date), but I just can't believe they'll name it that.
Did you read my signature? My signature pretty much says that already! I also call my iPad an "iPad 3" in the same signature! It says I have the "the amazing 5th iPhone (4s 64GB) and a beautiful iPad 3 64 GB!". I even defined it as a 4s so that people wouldn't get confused. (I called my Apple TV an "AppleTV 3" too!).

I don't think many people are hoping it'll be the "iPhone 6", there are people who think it would be weird if they name the 6th iPhone the "iPhone 5".

If the new Iphone looks like what we've seen on all those sites, they should call it the Iphone 4 L (L for long and 4 for lack of new design).
Some of you knuckle heads thought you guys were cool to think that it was going to be iphone 6, huh? It's iphone 5, stop beating yourselves up cause some of you were wrong.
It's funny that most of the people who think it would be weird to call it an iPhone 5 say so (and most do NOT suggest that it be called the iPhone 6). But others (who think it should be the 6) resort to name calling and want the other people to be wrong.
Even if I'm wrong, I still will think it will be weird.

I'll be interested in seeing what else Apple changes in this. I've owned the 3rd, 4th and 5th iPhones (that's the 3gs, 4 and 4s) but I don't see anything making me jump on to get this model.
It's getting thinner, so I don't see them improving the camera. I don't think they'll make a model with more storage. I don't live near LTE, that probably would be a selling point. NFC (if it's still in the rumors) wouldn't make me upgrade unless it somehow offered me discounts(!). A half inch more diagonally isn't enough to cough up the money for me.
Personally, I don't need it thinner. Make it thicker. Add more battery. Put an even better lens in it. Not likely to happen, but I'd like that.
I'd really like a nicer front camera/lens with a light for it; a dim one, the back one is pretty bright (half that would be enough, just a third would be good), just something to make FaceTime a tiny bit clearer (especially for the better lens/resolution).
And get rid of the glass back and aluminum edges!!! Rubberize the edges and back, I'm tired of people dropping them!

It's not quite "that simple." Wouldn't that have made the iPhone 4 the iPhone 3? Since the 3g was the second and 3gs was the second version of the 3gs, thus making the iPhone 4 the third true iPhone?
