Apple Issues Invitations for October 23 Media Event

Can't believe! Just 1 week away of 2 iPads shipments in 1 year. I think iPad4 will be the same, just a spec bump.

But that 24 Skus, I don't know what to think about that.

This is a direct response to Google's and Amazon's 7" tablets.
 
Colored iPad minis?

I'm wondering why there are so many colors on the invite. I think they might make the iPad Mini's colored like the new iPod touches. That would be nice because the iPad mini's would be affordable like the touches so a family can have more than one and having the color integrated into the mini's would make it easier to differentiate from someone elses.

I like the colors of the iPod Touches they have now. So, here's to seeing if I'm right. :)

Updated iMacs

I hope if they update the iMacs that they'll beef up the graphics card in them. The machines are already thin enough...you don't carry it around in your pocket so shaving off a few centimeters won't improve the user experience. Adding desktop-level graphics would...I love my iMac but I do wish they'd put better video cards in them. :(

If you come here, you should know better. Some people here, myself included, decided to wait until October, just in case. I don't know if the regular iPad (9.7") will get updated next week, but if it does, I think it would be a smart move by Apple. A lot of people hold off on their iPad holiday purchases when they know a new iPad is only 3-4 months away. Make that 10-11 months away and it's a different story.

They want people to pay for Final Cut X, yet wont release a computer than can properly handle it! What average consumer will ever use Thunderbolt or even USB 3?! These technologies were designed for professional users yet their flagship PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER is stuck on Usb2! and to add insult to injury it is generations behind in processors and graphics!

Real Pro users livelihoods depend on having the fastest and most advanced technology for their business so they can compete, yet Apple, except for a minor speed bump, has not released anything worthy of a professional device in nearly 3 years!!!

Do any of you in Cupertino remember the FACT that Apple WOULD NOT EXIST were it not for all of the professional designers and video artists that drove your company to where it is today!

Does anyone at Apple remember when your website and flashy TV ads were all about your PROFESSIONAL computers!?

Glad you are making billions a day on your toys, but please sell those at Toys R US and get back to making computers for professionals!

I was at Best Buy yesterday, and they had no iMacs on display. The employee I asked said they were sold out.

This is going to be a great event with:

1. MacBook Pro 13" Retina
2. Mac Mini
3. iPad Mini
4. iPhone Mini
5. OS X Mountain Lion Mini
6. iOS Mini
7. Lightning to Lightning Mini Cable
 
If they revise the 9.7" (lightening plug, lighter & thinner), then that's the one I'm getting. Retina is a must have feature.

So are you bemoaning the fact that Apple makes equipment that rapidly becomes obsolete, but at the same time you're upset that the Mac Pro line doesn't become obsolete fast enough?
 
I've been holding off on the iPad purchase until now, so Apple will finally get money from me for the mini. And they'll get some more money from me for a new 13" macbook (either air or retina pro). And they'll get some more money from me for a new iMac.

Gonna be lots under my tree this year. Happy Santa to me!

I would assume iPads. In a variety of pre-scratched finisheds. It's the cool new look.
