The most important thing now will be price.

No, the most important thing will be the resolution of the screen. :p

For me, I want it to display PDFs very well, so that they are readable on a device of the Mini's purported size. Don't care about price, I'm looking for functionality. If I was only interested in price, there are some great 7" devices out there I'd be looking at instead (and I may be looking at them if the Mini's resolution isn't very good, because those lower priced devices are all higher resolution than an iPad 2).

Let's hope we both get our wishes, that you get a low cost device (which is still great) and I get a high-res device. :)

iPod Touch 7 / HD - here we come

iPod Touch 7
or
iPod Touch HD

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

If the focus will, as rumored, be on media.. it makes sense.. as I've said all along.. media device = iPod.. iPad is the productivity device.. iPod is the media device.

I'm prob. wrong, but it makes allot more sense than iPad mini..

Although, that doesn't stop 4G LTE from being the branding for high-speed cellular data, and you wouldn't believe how many people I have ask me, "So, is 4G Lite cheeper than normal 4G .. or something?"

Sigh.

Now we know the real name of the smaller iPad - they totally give it away in the invite. "Little iPad". So obvious!

the blue on white like on the iPod Touch would be amazing for an iPad Mini but what am i thinking, i already got an iPad 3 soooo please only release alu editions :D

I think some people are reading into the tagline a bit too much here. The tagline ("We've got a little more to show you") is simply referring to the fact that at the beginning of the year they said that this is going to be a crazy year with a lot of awesome products and now that the year is almost over (and often times Apple doesn't have any presentations after the iPhone/iPod one), they are saying that they still have a bit more for us before the holidays, before the year is over.

What? If that's the case, wouldn't iPads, iMacs, MacBooks and MacMinis be A LOT left to show?

It's tongue in cheek. They have a lot to show, but it's all small.

That is is the rumors are all true. If all they do is come out with an iPad mini, well, it still fits.

Now the questions is:

why should we own both an iPad mini and an iPad?

Why do you assume you need both? Just because the iMac comes in two different sizes does that mean you go buy both of them?

Or are you just trying to find an excuse to buy one? :D

They want people to pay for Final Cut X, yet wont release a computer than can properly handle it! What average consumer will ever use Thunderbolt or even USB 3?! These technologies were designed for professional users yet their flagship PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER is stuck on Usb2! and to add insult to injury it is generations behind in processors and graphics!

Real Pro users livelihoods depend on having the fastest and most advanced technology for their business so they can compete, yet Apple, except for a minor speed bump, has not released anything worthy of a professional device in nearly 3 years!!!
...
Glad you are making billions a day on your toys, but please sell those at Toys R US and get back to making computers for professionals!

Anyone who uses the phrase "Real Pro" is automatically a troll and their outbursts are generally best worth ignoring and I know we're not supposed to respond to trolls, but...

If you somehow can't manage to use FCPX on any computer that Apple has released in the last few years (any i5/i7 processor) then you've got some issues. I am happily plugging along on my 2010 Mac Pro and a 2011 Macbook Pro and have seen it used rather effectively (though not optimally for sure) on a Macbook Air.

USB 3 is not a pro interface. It is the speedy successor to USB 2 (and 1.1 and...) which is the epitome of a consumer interface at this point. We, as Real Pros, must ensure that the commoners never gain access to improved inter-device bandwidth. Next thing you know they might want to edit their own movies, maybe record a song they wrote or send a personalized card to their granny.

Good to know the rest of my devices in no way fit in with my Real Pro(tm) workflow. I better stop using them that way.

Nomatter what Apple will show at this Event, you'll have to wait 4 Weeks at least before you get it (see iphone 5). Shame on you Apple

More excited for this than any other event. iMacs pleaseeeeee.

If you are smart enough to order straight away you won't have to wait very long at all.

OMG, I just laughed right out loud at the office. Don't *DO* that!

The rainbow also speaks of.. well... anyway...:p

Just in, another Hollywood endorsement!

I think the iPad is still mainly more of a consuming device, even though it does productivity quite well. And iPad mini is in line with their naming scheme. :)

Do any of you in Cupertino remember the FACT that Apple WOULD NOT EXIST were it not for all of the professional designers and video artists that drove your company to where it is today!

I'm pretty sure those professional designers and video artists exchanged money for a product as agreed upon by both parties.

You seem to think they loaned Apple money and are now entitled to cash in a favour.

Maybe all the people who paid you for services rendered 10 years ago should call you up to lecture you on what you owe them.

Keynote :
- great iphones sales numbers, thank you
- sorry for map
- mac line refresh (mini, retina 13, imacs)
- new ipad a6 lightning igzo
- sorry for ipad3 owners :D
- books
- one more "mini book reader" thing

I think you're pretty close!

Is everybody forgetting that iTunes 11 will be released then? Plus, probably, also iLife & iWork updates?

I love apple products but for some reason an iPad mini does not interest me one bit especially without a retina display

Rounding down the 7.85 inch screen to 7.00 inches?
