Apple Issues Media Invitations for September 9 Event: 'Wish We Could Say More'

if you look at the date upside down there are two number 6's. This means the 5.5 will happen!!!!!
You can always sell it. You won't break even on the sale but a brand new 5S will net you enough that it may be worth it to you.

this could very well mean that there is nothing to say, that would be humor. Sorry folks, we wished we could have said more but the truth of the matter is, we have nothing to say.
But I admit, I'm looking forward to this event. Always nice to see if Apple will come up with something new. I've just one wish....even if the new product is great, please apple, don''t punt in every sentence the word "amazing".

OH, no. I hope it does not mean "Wish we can say more but this is only iOS 8 for now."
It's looking more and more Apple has decided to drop a megaton bomb and announce every new product they have, go home, put a movie on, while the money piles up. No Apple Octoberfest this year -- because let's face it we need Macs and iPads, but they are like getting a new pair of work shoes. (Well, for guys anyway, I realize women get all tingly anytime they buy shoes for any reason).
The announcement is generic because its not featuring one particular product. It's going to push out big update for the iPhone and maybe Mac (Mac mini), minor updates to iPad, and then the band/watch. The "wish we could say more," is just that. It's not meant to be cryptic and I'm sure the Apple PR team is laughing their arses off right now. It's just to say, we have a lot to show you on 9/9 but we can't say anything more about it until then. It's a long winded, colloquial version of "no comment."

iOS 8 was already officially announced at its own event. Why would they hold a separate huge event for it?

What would you say a 32gb 5s on verizon is worth? Perfect condition, use an otterbox defender.

I sell mine every year about one year after purchase to get the new one (that was until I lost my 5s in a cab, grrr). Anyway, even a year old iPhone with some minor scratches will get you a really good price. An almost brand new one is even better. Just check out your favorite website to do this kind of stuff and look at the prices used iPhones are selling for. They keep their value much better than Android phones.

Although it'll be annoying, I'm sure they'll keep the 16 GB version to push people to the 64 GB. (so 16, 64 and 128). The 32 GB will simply disappear.

honestly i think this whole 'more' thing is just the announcement of TWO iPhone's this year. (4.7 and 5.5) but they did announce two last year (5c and 5s). so lets hope theres a special unveiling of a new product. its been to too long. a lot of apples events recently have fallen a bit flat and everything the rumours said was 100% true.
