You really might want to read some more history. I'm thinking that fire, the printing press, Velcro, microwave ovens, hey-even the zipper (to name just a few off the top of my head) would qualify as "the biggest new product of all time worldwide"

On topic, first thing I saw when I read 'Wish we could say more' was the Pink Floyd album 'Wish You Were Here'. Now it's running through my head constantly. Glad I love the album, otherwise it would be a bummer all day.

All of those things you just mentioned are technologies or product lines. With many different products, no single product launch being close to as big as the iPhone 5S

And surely the iPhone 6 will surpass the 5S

Wish we could say more:

iOS 8 = what iOS 7 should have been.
Yosemite = OS X facelift - probably broken many a enterprise feature whilst at it.
iPhone 6: Brick Edition - 4.7" Screen for blind people - in more ways than one.
iWatch: Boring.

What if the "9" means that they're going to call the iphone, "iPhone 9"
iPhone 2G - 1st generation
iPhone 3G - 2nd generation
iPhone 3Gs - 3rd generation
iPhone 4 - 4th generation
iPhone 4s - 5th generation
iPhone 5 - 6th generation
iPhone 5c - 7th generation
iPhone 5s - 8th generation
new iPhone- 9th generation

what if the 9th gen is a new C model and then the 4.7 or 5.5 model (10th gen) is iPhone X like OSX

Do they ever announce macbook airs, laptops, etc on the september events? Or is that saved for the October ones?

The great thing about this site is the "buyer's guide", located in a tab at the top of the screen. Go to that page, and it will tell you the release date of every Apple product.

Macbook Pro released: 10/13, 2/13, 6/12, 10/11, 2/11, 4/10, 6/09, 10/08, 2/08
MBA released: 6/13, 6/12, 7/11, 10/10,6/09,10/08.

So, no precedence for a Sept release.

But the iPhone event has not always been in Sept. Combined iPhone/laptop events: 10/2011, 6/2009. So it could happen at the iPhone event.

But I doubt it.

I do think the rotation is now: iPhone (Sept), laptop (Oct), iPad (Nov).

- Macintosh came with the mouse
- iPod had the click wheel
- iPhone introduced multitouch

Maybe iWatch will have a new input paradigm as well, a gesture controlled UI.

With your hand/fingers you will be able to switch songs, change volume, read mail, go to next message, poke your friends, activate Siri…

"A gesture is a form of non-verbal communication or non-vocal communication in which visible bodily actions communicate particular messages, either in place of, or in conjunction with, speech."

Wish we could say more…

Your Photoshopped clock indicates 11:50, not 10:00.

Exactly, the little hand should be on the 10 and the big hand should be on the 12

...and now I know my ABC's :apple:

Oh and this advert "Wish We Could Say More" is very flat looking.

Wish they could say more? Actually, they could say everything right now - no "event" needed.

Ok I have this one figured out-

It has to do with the ambiguity of the subject of the phrase

"Wish we could say more"

Since the subject is not identified that leaves the phrase open to several interpretations.

"(I) wish we could say more"

The most obvious one. The Subject (I), speaking collectively Apple the company, a company shrouded in secrecy, obviously has something they want to share, because they are excited about it, but can't; wishes they could say more. They want us to feel curious.

"(We) wish we could say more"

The collective 'we' as a society; as a general proclamation, wishes we could say "MORE". More, more, as in "give me MORE, give US MORE."Like at the dinner table, this is us, the "we"telling Apple that we want more; give us more products to buy.

and then the...

"(you) wish we could say more"

A COMMAND. Apple is telling us what what they want US to feel. They want us to "wish", to command our desires, to tell us that we want them to say more. More about what they are doing, what they have for us.. The one "more" thing...

This is an attempt to get us, the public, interested in what they are going to announce on 9.9.2014. I have figured it out!

Something tells me your going to be saying a lot during your hour+ long keynote. :D

If you flip the picture horizontal and vertically, it shows the 9.9 as 6.6. backward, which also looks like Steve Jobs glasses AND.... You take the first and third number of 2014, it spells out S.J. Now to figured out what 04 is.
