Copyright is an evil bitch and she don’t care!

Just like math.

Downvote all you want. You still know it’s the truth.
Copyright is only enforced sometimes and in some countries and cultures. It's not a law of nature.

Also, Apple was just fine with this until... now.

Would be nice if Apple discarded the Henry Ford method of “History is bunk” and put all of its archival material on line in HD.

After all, even Ford Motor has recognized the business value of making vast swaths of its corporate archives available online.

Not of late, they have been making bad decisions for over ten years.
They stopped caring about consumers long ago.
Corporate American Greed in full swing.

Let’s not forget, Steve was against the App Store before he was convinced otherwise, and also set the target for minimum profit margin of 30%. OTOH, Tim made the call to fight the FBI’s attempts to force Apple to provide a golden decryption key.

Meh. Whatever on this. Apple should just do a better job of making this available. As of now, their content is being used to make money for some random person, and a competitor to Apple. I can see why they'd want it down.

Now, I will again have to use that crappy, slow, buggy (looses connection after a few minutes of pause) video player from apple that's missing even the most basic key commands (j, l). In their arrogance (and probably internal fear) they don't even notice how bad some of their most basic software is.

This is an odd move. Wonder why now? There are quite a few other YouTubers who clips and use WWDC keynotes. They've never charged anyone access to watch these videos since everyone can watch them, either from Apple or YouTube.

Another thing, why this particular YouTuber too?

Very lame move. Possible reasons for doing this could be:

- They want people to forget some of their history and it’s impossible to do that without taking down some of the videos.
- Tim is jealous of Steve and sick of people idolizing him while not paying enough attention to the sizable growth the company achieved under him
- They don’t want anyone making a dime off of the Apple brand other than Apple.

Your labeling these recordings are derived from public addresses, how is a presentation before an audience that paid some admission for MacWorld, or WWDC free to the public? Some broadcasting companies might be given snippets for new releases, but we assume they were all granted permission. Look online, is any company really furnishing historical keynotes or developers sessions these days? There is always the chance someone has it on YouTube for sure, but YouTube also has a lot of content not authorized being streamed, examples of recent TV, Movies present. Perhaps after permission is granted this stuff will return, as it’s not exactly something most people could be bothered to see, except from a historical news or educational reason.

Can any user watch the live stream of the keynote each year for free? Yes. They are public. It would be very different if these were behind closed doors with admission.

Bummer if this was the only place to see this stuff. But...it's not their property. So, I get it. I assume Apple makes them available somewhere. If not, again, bummer we don't have an archive to view.

I assume this channel was making money with views. So, why are people upset? Did this person do anything by take someone else's content and make money? However, if the person is not monetizing this, then it's a shame.

ahhhh - the "Maybe What If Possible Could Be" scenarios.
No, more like “What other videos were on the channel?” :) When a creator’s videos are watched, YouTube DOES send watchers other videos of theirs. I COULD BE naive and assume that they were only doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, but that’s generally the wrong thinking ESPECIALLY with YouTube!

What possible reason does Apple have to do this? Seems a bit petty if you ask me and not a good look for the company.

It might have to do with "The Steve Jobs Archive" which is run by Laurene Powell Jobs, all sorts of historical videos related to Steve Jobs have been disappearing over the internet in the past year, this could be an extension of that as she looks to control his image.

Yes, and they can save those files, too, it’s not hard. Anyone that really wants to keep these HAS kept them.

They have to be consistent with protecting their IP or they loose their rights. If they allow him to knowingly infringe on their copyrights they have no leg to stand on when someone else does.

Nonsense, Youtube is littered with old videos from all sorts of networks, old NFL games from the major networks, vintage commercials/shows/movies from CBS/NBC/ABC/FOX, take a look at the recent NY Times article on what Laurene Jobs is doing, a good bet it is related, tons of Steve Jobs related videos are being zapped all over the internet.

I think you probably hit the nail on the head. Boring, pre-recorded, hi-res infomercials (called films), verse live, adrenaline anything can happen moments with Steve. You gotta admit, with Steve, you were at the edge of your seats. Tim is just a snooze fest if you watch all the keynotes from 2011 up to now.

"Who Gets The Last Word on Steve Jobs? He Might."

And his wife has a war chest of money to control his image.

All of those videos are gone.

Yeah, he wasn't perfect, but I am not gonna debate his personal life or his personal choices. His own psychotic level of selfish meanie behavior is why ended up being the 'richest man in the graveyard'.

Apple provides free viewing of multiple keynotes on their web site, they also are a Youtube content author which you can see at
The oldest keynote content dates from 2013 and offered in 1080P compared to the copied content in SD.
Example

Perhaps Apple will take some of the older content that people miss and place there on YouTube.

I'm not commenting on any of that, just the fact that videos of Steve Jobs are disappearing all over the internet, most of the videos are not negative at all, Laurene Jobs started the legal takedowns after the Walter Isaacson book was released.
