At my company we have foreign employees (with visa's and green cards) who are afraid to visit their familes for fear of not being able to return back to the U.S. They are cancellling/delaying vacations which is impacting project schedules and we now have to review the vacation policy to accomodate their change in plans. To say this horribly implemented ban doesn't impact the tech industry and that companies should stay out is ridiculously naive.

Oh that's so sad, maybe your company should hire some of the thousands of out of work tech skilled Americans instead of trying to save a buck.

Yes; although I have not called the former a ban in this thread, a point you seem to miss.

In your example, it's as if you banned me personally from your business premises, but since I'm a Christian, I'd claim everywhere that you banned Christians. So you didn't ban all of them, just like this executive order didn't ban all immigration, or all Muslims, but these are just nuances you don't seem to particularly care, as long as you get to denounce something and show the world how virtuous you are.

As for Trump giving Christians preferential treatment, I believe the context was religious persecution. Christians in Syria went through a particularly bad version of hell under ISIS, with mass decapitations/rape/etc. I would too give them preferential treatment, in the mass of refugees running away from war, they have that extra reason to run away.

So do Shia Muslims and anyone not a Sunni Muslims (as well as Sunnis who didn't follow ISIS rules); so you're for giving them preferential treatment as well?
