Well, I will enjoy it. I get what I want, when I want it...especially love it when I get one at the subsidized price and not affecting my upgrade or reuping for 2 years. Don't ask, I know people.

I work damn hard for my money and if I want to waste my money on buying myself a new white iPhone then it's my choice. I am perfectly happy right now with what I have, but like I said, my business not yours and I am damn sure I'm not going to give it to charity just because someone thinks it's a good idea. Most charities a rip offs anyway. You have to do your research. If you want someone to give to charity or to a panhandler, well the best thing YOU can do is to volunteer at a homeless shelter.

Where is this 'con' you speak of? As far as I know, the majority of people will split their time between work and leisure. Their work provides an income stream, which they can then use to consume goods with their own free choice. So where's the con? Sure Apple (and pretty much every other company) will advertise in an attempt to influence peoples' choices, but this advertisement, in the case of Apple, is neither misrepresentation nor fraud. And still, at the end of people have free choice.
So, in reality, what you imply is that everyone who buys a white iPhone 4 has been 'conned' because it's a choice you don't agree with. Okay.
Go sell your MBP and your iPhone, buy a used Pentium IV and a Nokia 3310 before you go around preaching to people about how to spend their money. Let people spend their money how they wish, and you do the same.
I'm really not that bothered if people think I'm a loser for getting a White iPhone. I bought it SIM Free so I can get another contract whenever I want. My 3GS lasted me close to two years so.. Why won't my iP4?

I think I'm going to re-frame how I think of Apple. It's time to have some fun and not be attached to how they perform, when they are released, or what the specs are, since in this forum one gets called out if they mention specs anyway. So this will truly be fun.
Instead of a thinking of them as serious tech company, think of them as a goofy entertainment company that do things to amuse us.
Taking a light, "who cares viewpoint", there is no way to get frustrated with them.
One can think of them as iToys, not in a negative way, but rater as totally funny and entertaining.
Lower ones expectations, grab another phone to use as a keeper, and then play with whatever Apple puts out.
That way if there are any big issues, it's no big deal.
Without the phone while they fix it? Or waiting for an exchange cause they can't build enough? Same thing No Big Deal.
Apple iToys ... at a big box store by you.

One thing to note, I bought an iPhone 4 last week...my blackberry died, the iPhone 4 white was out, but I purchased a black one and this suits my needs fine. It was my choice and it will last me for a good couple years.

I personally think Apple initially tried to do away with a white version for good, but the demand was too freaking huge to ignore. Why should Apple back away from making profits from such a demand of a phone color? Especially since others started to profit from it first.
