a birdy told me...

September 8 - ipod/music event led by the one and only Phil Schiller

October 13 - Macbook Event - introducing the new "tablet" device that will sit within the macbook lineup similar to how the macbook air is a subset of the macbook line-up. This event will be led by the one and only Steve Jobs.

That's certainly plausible. The tablet is starting to sound less like something that would fit into the iPod/iPhone lineup.

I still have my doubts about exactly what market the tablet will serve, but that's a rant for another thread.

Are we all betting the Classic is dead? Will Apple come out with something to better compete against the Zune HD?

I almost forgot how quickly iTunes jumps version numbers.

yeah, I don't think I ever realized it was every September like clockwork. Goes to show you how different I think each new version is. ;)

Also, I doubt the tablet will be discussed at this event unless it's really just a media accessory - which would be a big disappointment.

can't see the new ipod touch if there is one being available until after 18th September. mainly because thats when the back to school promotion finishes. :):)

Apple better be taking notes....Zune HD is looking mighty good, and I know A LOT of people who are planning on getting one. I'm a Apple guy all the way, but the iPod interface is starting looking a bit dated in comparison.

can we start the black friday "sale" (aka 4.5% off some products) topics now or is too early?

It's fun to see the list. It's clear that the event titles don't give much of a clue about the announcements to come.
