Exactly. Sandy Bridge CPU is reported to be ~1x% faster than the Arrandale with the same clock speed. But it seems that Apple now provides Sandy Bridge CPUs with lower clock speed than the 2010 generation.🙁

hmm slightly angry at the $0.99 charge, especially for something that we previously had free (beta) but I guess it doesn't really matter. I'll be downloading this 🙂

Companies never charge for betas. You can get a free beta version of Windows, but that doesn't mean they give you the final version free.

I'm not defending the $0.99 price tag, I think it's ridiculous. But I'm just stating that just because a beta is free, doesn't mean the final product will be.

I'm a big fan of FaceTime on my iPhone. No idea why they are charging for an apple app as straightforward as this. iChat integration would be totally logical. LAME

Yeah I never used Facetime even on my iPhone 4 so I don't know no reason for me to buy this right now. Will buy it if I ever need it though.

Nope. Not going to pay money for rebranded iChat. Especially when there are many other free options. e.g. Skype etc. It's sad that Apple is slowing slipping towards true greed.

This may sound like a newbie question but....

If only the people I know have macs (don't have ipod touch with camera). What would be the use of this, over the original iChat and using the video? I use that quite often. And given that you must use your Apple ID - does that now mean; I could not use it with my friends who are on AIM? I use the video chat over AIM (not everyone has a mac).
