Probably not the exact update the Mac users probably want, but it will have to suffice for now.
According to John Gruber the issue with the keyboards had to do with supplier sourcing of a specific metal part that wasn’t up to standard. Supposedly that has been fixed. He didn’t get this first hand so he said take with a grain of salt of course.According to Are Technica, the keyboard seems a little bit better, but I guess time will tell as to just how improved they have been, and if the current issues plaguing them have been resolved or not.
Probably when they update the 12” MacBook. The non-touchbar model was not updated. Unbelievable.

By all reports, the keyboard did undergo some slight modifications, but will a spec a debris still break the keyboard?

Unexpected, but a nice surprise to be sure. Though for the high price they're charging, will I take a chance on the keyboard. By all reports, the keyboard did undergo some slight modifications, but will a spec a debris still break the keyboard?
I know a lot of Mac users in the office, none of them have been waiting for or care about the Touch Bar.
Like for me, Magsafe and ports are much more important.
Considering Apple admitted issues with the keyboard it seems odd they’d ship new models - and even mention an improved 3rd gen keyboard - with the same keyboard issues as before. Sure some people still won’t like the keyboard because they prefer more key travel but that’s just a preference not a flaw with the keyboard.Unexpected, but a nice surprise to be sure.
