What's the step by step process to make use of back to school offers?

I don’t understand the Apple CC credit. It looks like zero to me. The terms say you get an AirPod free. Buy you get an AirPod free anyway. What is the advantage of using the card?

Pretty sure the Apple Card gets you 3% cash back and 0% interest for 18 months on the purchase. The free AirPods are not dependent on what payment method you use.

So there is no real benefit other than interest free installments and a 3 % cash back vs other cash back cards, in return for giving up extended warranty and purchase protection. They give you a $ 159 credit immediately, with the card. Free immediately without the card. Great double talk.

Update: I posted earlier in this thread that I had bought a MacBook Pro with the Education Discount last week and had planned on going back to the Apple Store this week to try to get the AirPods. Success! I just went in and had no problems whatsoever, didn't have to ask for a manager or anything. Told them the situation, that I just bought the MacBook Pro last week, and is there any possible way I could still get the AirPods? I made sure to bring in both the MacBook Pro and the box it came in (someone earlier in this thread mentioned needing the box, but I brought both just in case), and I had the receipt on my iPhone. They initiated a return and rebuy and added the AirPods. They did end up needing to scan codes on the box and scan the code from my receipt.

I originally bought the MacBook Pro on the Apple Education Store Home online, for pickup at the store. Both times I went in I brought in a printout of my college class schedule showing current dates and my student ID and asked if they would like to see them, but they said something along the lines of, That's OK, we believe you.

I got my 13" MBP on the 5th March from an Apple Store and have been looking to return it within the 14 day period since then. Had 3 conversations with Apple that have confirmed that as the shops closed my 14 days starts again when UK shops re-opened (as they did in UK yesterday). So hopefully this promotion goes live soon so I can get the AirPods Pro (pay the difference).
so what you’re trying to say is , if we’ve bought a MacBook around this month, we can still qualify for the promotion? Depending on when the Apple stores open in the uk?

I bought mine in March. According to the Apple FAQs (now updated so relevant section lost), if you can't return within the 14 day period then you can return within 14 days of the stores reopening. So, I'll be returning mine for a refund this weekend/next week. As I bough this with an education discount I can get the AirPods, HOWEVER. One slight issue with this plan! The Back to School promotion hasn't started in the UK yet. Not sure if it's usual to stagger start dates?

They didn’t stagger dates last year. I’m also wondering when it’ll become available in the U.K. store.

I've looked back and it's been 10th/9th July in Uk last 2 years. However the USA was also similar dates and this year launched very early. No idea why and no idea what UK didn't follow suit. Based on this (very unscientific) research I think at the latest 10th July UK which means I will refund my 5th March bought MBP at the latest this Tuesday (the last day I can according to the store) and have to do without for a few days and buy the newer model with the AirPods Pros when the promotion launches.

Guys, I understand the 'Back to school' promo is available in the US and Canada. Any idea when will it be available in Singapore (Asia)?
Would like to know it too. :)

Apple today launched its annual "Back to School" promotion in the United States and Canada. After five years of offering free Beats, Apple this year is offering free AirPods with the purchase of an eligible new Mac or iPad.

Qualifying students and educators can receive free second-generation AirPods with a wired charging case with the purchase of a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, iMac Pro, iPad Pro, or iPad Air. During the checkout process, it is also possible to upgrade to second-generation AirPods with a wireless charging case for $40 or to AirPods Pro for $90.

As usual, the standard iPad, iPad mini, Mac mini, and refurbished products are not eligible for the Back to School promotion.

The free AirPods are in addition to Apple's educational pricing, which allows students to save up to $200 off a Mac and up to $100 off an iPad Pro. The promotion runs until September 29, 2020 and is available through Apple's education store on the web, at Apple's retail stores where open, or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

For purchases made using Apple Card Monthly Installments, you will receive an instant credit of $159, which will be applied as a discount to your eligible iPad or Mac at the time of purchase. Then, the cost of the AirPods will be billed in six monthly installments. Apple provides more details in its full terms and conditions for the promotion.

The promotion does not appear to be live in Europe or other regions at this time.

I got my MacBook Pro on June 3rd I was wondering if I would eligible for the free promotion or was that too early. I could have waited If I knew both this deal I am so sad lost an opportunity to get free AirPods

If you contact Apple, they might be able to help. I know that other people have been in a similar situation and have had no problems in getting their AirPods after contacting Apple, even though they were early.

If you are using your college savings funds to pay for the computer, be aware of the fine print. Apple is giving the Airpods as a "gift" and the discount is applied to the laptop/computer you are purchasing. Therefore, you may be limited in reimbursing yourself the full amount of the laptop purchase as that the receipt reflects the discount to the computer NOT the airpods. I contacted Apple regarding this and was told it was included. Had to dig for it but did find this in the "terms and conditions" which was separate. "you will receive an instant credit of $159, which will be applied as a discount to your eligible iPad or Mac at the time of purchase." Very misleading in my opinion.
