No touch ID for the iPod Touch? That's surprising.

I'm also really surprised that they haven't updated the OS for the Nano to make it look more like iOS 7/8/9 as its still the only one that looks like the old version of iOS

Also the non-Retina MacBook Pro has been discontinued! Finally!

EDIT: nope ... just didn't scroll down the page far enough :(

I am utterly disgusted with Apple. The iPod touch received a really good update today and I'm glad for iPod Touch buyers, but they couldn't have insulted Nano and Shuffle users more.

I will pay $70 for a refurbished 5th gen Nano before I pay $150 for a 16GB music player in 2015. All they did was change the colors. All that excitement. Bleh.

I suspect that it was getting more expensive for them to make the old iPod range, this benefits consumers and probably helps their profitability.

damn, was hopping for more than a paint job for the non touch range. Its like apple is not even trying with the ipod :( , shame.
They have sales numbers to support their decisions, I'm sure. There just isn't much of a market for the smaller iPods anymore.

I'm surprised by the A8 chip. I was expecting an A7. Pretty impressive for a $199 device (keep in mind even the latest iPad mini doesn't have an A8).

You know what's good about this? Apple shows it's possible to put advanced hardware (same chip and storage options as the iPhone 6) inside a super-small body (4" screen, thinner than an iPhone 6). I wouldn't be surprised if Apple comes up with a 4" iPhone that doesn't suck now.
I'm thinking the A8 might actually be downclocked in the iPod Touch in order to maintain battery life since the iPod Touch battery is much smaller than the iPhone 6. The A8 also wouldn't need to be as fast anyways since it's driving a lower resolution screen.

Shuffle still 2Gb for £40, when it's competitors are 4Gb for £15, or 8Gb with a colour screen, video playback FM radio, voice recording for £30. Pretty shabby deal from Apple!
