Wires for wireless. Yes it's you who's smart.
I have a free $100 banknote for you. Just transfer 200 dollars to my account and I'll tell you where it is.

They don't connect to the phone, thus wireless..

Another international scam from Asia..

no. you meant a dongle that would make wired headphones wireless. that would be useless even if someone made one. you'd have to have 2 and then you'd still have a mess of wires to tuck in somewhere.

The whole point of having something wireless is to get rid of the wires.

My satellite receiver that is connected with coax to my television is also not called wireless, even though - thanks God - there isn't a physical cable between the bird and my roof.

Heat... now we all can match up our Apple watch bands....

However, i would add that anything wireless may now be convient, but not so when u have to replace batteries...

I dunno how many times i've replaces the batteries in my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse... on windows systems... I'm sick of doing this... and getting a recharger and rechargeable battery's costs more than the keyboard/mouse anyway.. so i'd be loosing money there.

I can see the point in wireless headphones though. Just not for me. Unless the power comes over the air as well. That something even the Apple watch can't do, or others, despite u must still place it on a mat/dock or some sort TO charge.

I must say that Beats headphones are the most overpriced crap I've ever encountered.
I was on the lookout for a good over the ear headphone and went through a stores entire offerings and Beats came in last on my list. Perhaps the kind of crap music Mr Dre put out sounds good with that rumbling bass, screaming treble and muddle midrange but nothing else. And those were among the most expensive headphones too.
Now, whenever I see "famous people" wear Beats headphones I just shake my head...

These Beats sport over the ear headphones are indeed quite expensive for 200 dollars.
I just recently bought and tried two cheaper (non bluetooth) models for listing music and change volume/skip tracks via remote. I'm now trying out my Yurbuds Focus 400 which i bought for 40 euros at Amazon.de. I have tried Sennheiser's Adidas OCX 685i Sports for 32,99 but the skip track remote button stopped working after 1,5 week (while volume up/down and play/pause still worked with various music apps).

The point of beats isn't that they're de facto bad headphones, but that other brands offer same or better quality for less money. Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic...

I do think it a bit different to put the earplugs in then with the Sennheiser.

Why not try another brand instead of having problems over and over?

Call me crazy but I definitely like Beats headphones. I have a couple of Bose pairs and a B&O pair but I like the heavy bass and loudness of beats headphones which is why I keep getting them.

Surprisingly I haven't had to return these not once but the wired ones were a nightmare.

I work out about 6 days a week (run 30 miles/wk give or take; weights 2 days a week). I have found the Powerbeats2 to be one of the better wireless headphones out there. I was a bit nervous, since they are really ridiculously expensive, but so far they have been the *ONLY* headphones I have ever had that were actually sweat-proof. (before I plug them in, to be safe, I give a quick squirt of compressed air).

Well, which ones? Which $100 wireless earphones outperform them?

It's not a rethorical question, because I am seriously considering replacing my Jaybird Bluebuds with the Powerbeats2 in hope for a better fit, so if there are better ones for a lower price, then I would like to know.

What you said is true. The problem is that the grandparent post said that Apple's "free" earphones were superior in sound quality to these Beats earphones. That's not even remotely true.

Yes, most Beats products are inferior to comparatively priced competitors but that doesn't mean they're terrible, it just means that people who purchase them could be better informed.

no one said they are ugly, we're saying they're way overpriced for the performance.

if they sold for $99 or $129 then that would be fine, but not 200

Might want to take a look at post 5, 33 and 49, to name a few. (not to mention my own).

After being acquired by Apple, one would hope that they would lose the micro-USB cable connection in favor of a Lightning one. If Anker can make a portable battery with a female Lightning port, I'm sure Apple/Beats could, too.

without specifically giving an opinion on this product, I would like to ask when will Apple kill the Beats name. With Apple Music, they killed it in that area, but the need to kill it in the hardware area. It seems ugly right now that they went from Beats by Dr Dre to Beats by Apple. It's just not consistent with the Apple names where everything starts with i or Apple. And Apple Beats or iBeats is just wrong. So, I wonder if Apple will eventually do away with the name and come up with something else.

Ditto. Mind you, I am on my second set - they're all too easy to lose :(

Funny to read all the diehards with money and willing to spend it and then defending their choices or calling others bad.

$ 200 and up fore earphones is a little much in my book.

But then, I wreck and lose plenty, so it's SONY 14.95 or just got some from ALDI for $ 4.00.
Anything under 20 is ok for what I need.

I can hear just fine with these budget cans:)

Don't like anything going in to my ear, so the ones with ear hooks are preferred, but I understand everybody has different needs or likes.

Due to all the outside noises, movements when walking/running I can't see audiophile quality needed for earphones.

Buy what works for you and be happy.

Show us, please, your Sony or Aldi branded in-ear headphones at those prices with Bluetooth wireless operation and IPX4 sweat / water resistance.

An ongoing problem in this thread is people not comparing apples with apples, so to speak.

So, after Apple acquired Beats, what do we get after a year+?
Innovation?
Special lightning connection for enhanced audio?

Nope, crazy new colors that match Apple products!

Yeah!

Really? I didn't think it could get worse. And I thought those over-ear "hooks" would help as well. Those little patent-pending "wings" on the Bluebuds don't do anything. They are a complete placebo.

I can only hope that my ear canal is a better match to the Powerbeats than yours.

The Apple earbuds don't work for my ears at all. I put them in, they fall out. That's it. I find it funny how Apple went on about how they measured so many people's ear canals to design them.

In any case, wired headphones are not an option for me anymore. I don't want to deal with the stupid cable. People can go on and on about how great certain wired ones sound (I also used to have excellent Sennheiser earphones, and yes, they sounded better than the Bluebuds). As long as they are not wireless, it's a pointless comparison.

I gave the Bluebuds I had away, and now, after the disaster with the Powerbeats, I've been thinking of trying to get them back to see if I can give it one more try.

I can see the definite advantage to wireless, as biking with the Apple ear buds is annoying as the cable gets stuck in arms and jersey pocket bottoms.

I even called Apple support on the PB2's, and they offered to swap them. I told them that they were probably fine, it's my ears that I should return... Seriously, if that tube was just a little longer... The weight of them kept causing them to flop out and dangle on the hook, and the sound went from 'Oh Yeah...' to 'I PAID HOW MUCH FOR THESE?' The Bluebuds just fell out.

Someone suggested looking at audio monitor buds that musicians wear as they are custom molded for the ear, but I doubt that any of them are Bluetooth, and that any of them are 'affordable'...

But, good luck. It's been a frustrating, and somewhat expensive search for me...

Yeah!

The thing that surprised me about the PB2's was how 'clunky' they looked. I expected something 'sexier', more 'Apple' than something that looked like Lego blocks on my head... And now they are even MORE obvious...
