I am really questioning medical professionals pushing opioids because you know the crisis is made up. Trust the big pharma companies and the paid off doctors. /s
If you think it's "big Pharma" pushing the Covid-19 vaccines, you're very uninformed. FYI, "big Pharma" doesn't control peer-reviewed medical journals. Governments don't either.

I'm not surprised by the push, but I am surprised to see so many colleges requiring a vaccine next fall that doesn't have FDA approval.
In an alternate timeline this fall season all students and staff have taken the vaccine, new variant or not shows up and it’s not effective or worse someone dies, I suspect the educational institute will be sued.

Where is the privacy in this? I don’t think there are many other countries where employers other than hospitals set up a vaccination program for their own personnel.
I'm in Canada. At the company I work for, the on-site nurse gives flu shots to anyone that wants one in the fall. It's not required, but it's available. The benefit to the company is that you don't have to take time off to get a flu shot, and you likely won't have to take an extended period of time off from getting sick. The benefit to the employee is that you don't have to go to a pharmacy or a flu shot clinic on your own time.

I have taken the flu vaccine in the past as have many in my circle and guess what they got sick and took time off work. It’s a coin toss and personal choice.

Not to get off topic but the mortgage crisis was created by the top 1%. The selfishness of anti-vaxxing campaigns falls squarely in the other 99%. Completely different factions with completely different motives.
Sure financial CEO’s are the ones walking the streets to sign-up a fast food employee for a half million mortgage. /s

What do you mean by unapproved? The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized for emergency use, went through a trial with 43,448 participants, and is demonstrably doing a good job of inoculating populations to the virus.

I received my first Pfizer shot this week. From the fact sheet I received before receiving the shot (Revised April 06, 2021):

WHAT IS THE PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE?
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine that may prevent COVID-19. There is no FDA-approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 16 years of age and older under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

What are you talking about? You have a smartphone in your pocket you are being tracked unless you are smart and know how to limit data release.
Haven't you seen the insane anti-vaxxer/Q-Anon conspiracy theories out there about Bill Gates and the COVID vaccine? Some people actually believe that the COVID vaccine has a mind control microchip in it. These people also believe that 5G is for remote mind control as well. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...g-implant-microchips-via-vaccines/3171405001/

I understand some people having doubts about a vaccine that they think has been rushed, that's fair. But the shear amount of fake news and BS posts being shared on social media saying that the vaccine is dangerous or actively designed to do harm are not helping, especially with the amount of people on the web who are gullible, easily led, or not media literate.

I've read enough from actual scientists and doctors to believe that the vaccine is safe and that the risk of getting COVID far outweighs the risk of getting the vaccine.

Only on the internet does someone reply to data with an anecdote and tell you an average outcome in studies is anecdotal. But hey - I recommend the vaccine. I think the vaccine is nearly harmless. My point is people dont need to be scared and if they are young and low risk they dont need to stress about the vaccine one way or the other or live in fear of CV19 because probabilistically it poses no risk to them, your anecdotes aside. Just a little nuance and trade offs is useful for the US which seems to have descended into hysteria about everything in a black/white way.
Think we are discussing different things, and sorry if I misunderstood you. I am for the vaccine and I believe it needs to happen for everybody. It's the people who proclaim you can get covid and if you are young and healthy it's like a head cold...that I was responding to.

Didn’t the Governor of NY have a hand in all those old age home deaths due to the virus.
What does that have to do with what I said? I’m in agreement with you, but it’s unrelated. My political thinking is not binary, there’s some things I like and some things I don’t like about each party

Be skeptical of any medical advice and best to get a second opinion. Too many people have blind trust in doctors that there maybe a conflict of interest for that all expenses paid vacation to Tahiti for a week by your friendly big pharma.
Wut?! You think any respectable doctor is willing to endanger a patient for an all expense paid vacation? I guess they don't have malpractice lawsuits in your country.🤕 The good quack's malpractice insurance would sky rocket after the insurance pay out.🤕🤕🤕 That is, if the insurance company decides not to drop their coverage afterwards.

Did the Sub-Prime mortgage crisis not inform you of people’s greed and selfishness? Were you asleep during those years.
You can finger-point and “whataboutism” all you want, but it won’t change the fact that overcoming a pandemic is a team effort that requires a vast amount of participation.

Getting vaccinated is the best way to be a participant in this global effort. It’s safe, it’s effective, and it’s the right thing to do for yourself, your family, and humanity.
