So, I guess the Fitness app for iPad will show up at some point today in App Store.

It doesn't make sense, unless they think the rest of the world doesn't speak/understand English.
Not saying this is the only thing in play here (might be Apple’s own decision), but some countries and region have language laws that require products and services to be available in the local language(s) to be sold/offered in those locations.

That takes me to a link that says it‘s not compatible with my 2018 iPad Pro.

Maybe hasn’t propagated, but I expected it to install with the OS, not be a separate download.
Earlier it showed a message that it wasn't compatible with my iPad, now it shows that it's only an iPhone/Apple Watch app. It appears they've pulled the iPad app for reasons unknown.

Do you HAVE to have a watch to use this? I restarted my iPhone and still only see Summary and Sharing in the fitness app.

Couple questions:
-Bestbuy offered members a 2 month Fitness+ free sub...anyone know how to get it?
-looks like CVS offers a one year sub or something?

Dumb question, but which exercise type(s) should I choose if I want to do workouts on my elliptical machine? I guess treadmill or HIIT would work, maybe?

I purchased a Series 6 AW from Best Buy, since they had the special 6-month free trial of Apple Fitness+. However, the button that showed up for me on the AppleTV stated only a 3-month free trial. So, it seems to know that I'm eligible for a free trial, but not the 6-month Best Buy free trial. Apple Support suggested reaching out to Best Buy but I have little confidence that will provide an answer. Can anyone see the 6-month BB free trial?
