Not really my cup of tea, but thankfully it's not something required for the AW. I think some of Tim Cook's moves have been questionable however.

One of the more egregious examples is the $79 pricing on the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter on the MacBook 12 inch retina. The pricing seems over the top to me.

For the people complaining about fumbling to activate their Watch's nightstand mode, try just bumping your nightstand instead — works great and requires zero aim.

? The video shows it facing the back of the dock. The watch will be in nightstand mode, and the cable will be at the back of the device.

What he means is with the watch facing the bed, the cable should exit the stand at a right-angle to the bed so that the cable can be neatly run down the back of the night stand, instead of coming out on the exact opposite side and therefore trailing across the top of the night stand.

Apple should have designed it so the flip-top charger part can rotate within the 'disc'. That way, users could choose to locate the port and cable wherever suits them best.

With every day I'm more disgusted by the obvious greed of Apple. When I jumped into Apple ecosystem in 2007, I understood the products are a bit more expensive [than competition], but most likely worth it. But today everything they sell is so obviously and shamelessly overpriced, that it seems the millionaires/billionaires at Apple have lost any connection with reality and turned the brand in some sort of Vertu equivalent.

Nobody is forcing you to buy it.

I got a dock a few weeks back from Amazon for like $25. Why would someone pay $80 for this?

Do you have numbers to back this up, or is it just wishful thinking?

Sure.
Most valuable luxury brand: http://fashionista.com/2015/05/louis-vuitton-valuation
Apple valuation: market cap

Some recent examples of price increases with updated products:
New Trackpad: $129, up from $69 (+87%)
New Keyboard: $99, up from $69 (+43%)
New Mouse: $79, up from $69 (+14%)
AppleCare+: $129, up from $99 (+30%)
Apple TV: $149, up from $69 (+115%)
-Compare the price of Apple TV to competitors.

Also keep in mind that every non-American country sees continual price change with "currency", even though salaries don't change with price. Creates further difficulty in swallowing price changes.

Potential impact on sales:

(Canadian data).

Real impact on sales:
iPad - I'm sure there are multiple reasons for its decline. Is overpriced being one?

So the normal watch charger and 3' cable is $29. For $50 more you get 3' more of cable and a stand. Seems high.

I bought the $29 charger and a $11 stand from Amazon which works fine for half the cost.

This seems to be a good indicator that (if you are looking for a charging stand) you should consider one of the many other options from other manufacturers.
And if I said I love it and want one, that would be a good indicator that I should buy one, among myriad other patently obvious conclusions that one need not bother drawing on a forum built for discussion.

I blame the Burberry chick they hired. I think she is part of the rise (pricing) and soon to be fall of Apple (company).

With the lack of quality in software that's filled with bugs these days, we aren't getting value for the premium we are paying.

Apple lost that concept.

with just the cable, the right angle between you, the watch face, and the cable means the cable feeds 90 degrees perpendicular to the direction of the watch facing someone in bed. With the dock, the cable will feed in the same direction (180 degrees opposite) of the watch face and person lying in bed, which would NOT be in the direction of the wall (unless the nightstand happens to be in a corner.

If it were only a charger, yes. But it is also a "stand" and not just one but two types of stands! ;)

But wait! There's more! You can put the watch on it "flat" and then use a book or something to prop the whole flying saucer vertical...so it's THREE different stands in one! ;)

Not talking about pricing per se, but what I really meant was that Apple shouldn't get comfortable with its position... we all know the stories of Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola who were all top of the cellular pile at one point or another... not to mention Microsoft of course, who are no longer the giants that they once were. I just meant that you can't be complacent in this industry or take your customers for granted.
Ah I see. Point taken.

I like mine too, the only thing is I wish the magnet in the Apple charger itself were stronger as it's not super adept at holding the watch on its side.

Do you have the sport or the SS? I am note sure if that matters, but mine stays put (SS model).

I know I'm going to get lynched for this but I couldn't care less. Many people on this forum know I tried and disliked the Apple Watch. I found it pointless then, and I find it pointless now. I really don't like it. Slow, really fugly, needs constant charging, massively overpriced and with a limited life-span.

Moreover, this really does concrete my feelings about the Apple Watch. It's basically a hub for ridiculous accessories!

€420 watch
€150 bluetooth headphones
€150 for more bands
€100 for a sodding stand. (Which will probably be defunct in 2 years anyway)

That's €820!!!! And we're talking about the cheapest Apple Watch.

This watch exhumes consumerism but in a terrible way!

P.S. I know so many people who've bought one...and they're back to their original watches. Most of the Apple Watches sold are probably on eBay....

Sorry, but this just isn't a good enough solution for the high rollers. How about the $5000 Edition model with fairy-dusted gold ring and personal setup service included?
