I'll bet this made Jonny Ives throw up in his mouth a little. Overpriced, ugly cheap plastic crap fest. Embarrassing.

I'm shocked. This is the first really bad Apple box design. Also, that box is far from the snug packaging that Apple is know for. Obligatory *This wouldn't have happened if Jobs was still in charge.

It's only obligatory because people keep saying it's obligatory. It's not obligatory, and it's rarely even relevant anymore. Let the man go.

You don't truly think Jony Ive had nothing to do with this do you? It looks like a Dieter Rams coaster ca. 1962, and by extension, very Jony Ive.

Its not too bad. IN reality, it's $20 more expensive than for example, Samsung's wireless phone charger. So if you remember you're getting 29.99 Lightning cable with it... it's a steal?

Seems like we're slowly seeing the old "Apple Tax" creeping it's way back into pricing model.

The moment somebody thinks a cable priced at $29.99 is a steal is when you know you Apple has you by the balls and you've lost all sanity.

There's nothing wrong with premium/luxury brands charging premium prices (like the $2k Armani coat), but when your customer base slowly increases resistance to the pricing of your products and get more and more vocal about it, I think it is fair to say that it could be a future recipe for disaster.

You probably aren't going to find a bunch of threads sticking out of a $2000 Armani coat, like you do OSX/iOS. They are starting to overcharge ($99 for a "new, wildly innovative" keyboard that doesn't have a backlight??) and the quality is dropping off. Not good.

Its the new Adele's cd

Guess that means quite a few other products are flops too....they never release ATV sales.

ATV was never a primary product. It was always a bit of an Apple "hobby".

I don't know what the stance is with the new ATV but we'll just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, the Apple Watch is considered a primary product and the fact that it's already in decline could be a huge problem for Apple.

The article highlights many key points. Meaningful apps, battery life, fashion design, performance, etc....I would stake a serious bet to say the Apple Watch will not do as well as expected and remain a bit of a niche.

$80? I know Apple is a premium brand but c'mon, how can you justify the price to consumers? I know R&D is a huge factor in the cost but it is getting ridiculous.
$60 for an iPad Pro Smart Cover, $169 for a Smart Keyboard. I understand innovation can be expensive but at some point they need to reign in the profit margins for the sake of the brand.

I know the feeling. I paid €39 for a piece of silicone for my iPhone 6S. I can justify the €820 for my phone, but I felt a bit sick spending €39 on a piece of plastic that probably cost about €2 to make...probably less. It's why most of my accessories are not Apple branded.

Why?

The stand looks great, but why is there such a huge absence of Watch + Phone stands? If Apple would have just put a simple Lightening connector on there, too, I would be all over that.

With every day I'm more disgusted by the obvious greed of Apple. When I jumped into Apple ecosystem in 2007, I understood the products are a bit more expensive [than competition], but most likely worth it. But today everything they sell is so obviously and shamelessly overpriced, that it seems the millionaires/billionaires at Apple have lost any connection with reality and turned the brand in some sort of Vertu equivalent.

I could not have said this better myself. One day the competition will pass Apple. Until then, I'm stuck. No more side gadgets from them though.

You make a very good point. For me it was the iPhone with 16GB and the iMacs with 5400 rpm HD. Seriously that's is insane in 2015. If Apple wants to give the best experience they should have better specs at entry line products. The greedy in trying to squeeze more $ is getting old and it is pretty pathetic.
