Not sure about 30", but sure would like them to bring back the 24".

I think people were happy at 24-inch, 21.5-inch pushed the likes of my parents (graphic designers) to 27-inch when they upgraded.

These are very disappointing.

Why the hell do they use Lightning for charging? It's a Mac, not an iOS device, and USB-C connectors are available and would make much more sense.

Why is the power port on the mouse so badly placed so you can't use it and charge it?

Why (from the Verge review) as the keyboard inherited the same lack of travel as the deity-forsaken Macbook keyboard?

So much fail.

The UK price for that keyboard is crazy. Specs state it works with mac only?

Rechargeable AAs are still the better option. You can use them until they degrade and then replace them (versus the mouse itself). Also, because of where the connector is, you can't use the mouse while it's charging so if you're at an iMac, you'd better have a backup!

I'm sure the mac will sense the battery going down soon enough before it is actually dead to warn you to re-charge. I have both the current wireless keyboard and trackpad and I get about a week's warning before my batteries are actually dead. I'll admit it's my home computer and I don't use it constantly, but with that kind of warning, surely even a heavy user will have at least a day's warning and will be able to charge overnight before the next day.

Apple also says the battery takes 2 hours to charge and lasts about a month. So one should be able to plug it in for a few minutes and go get a cup of coffee and then have enough charge to at least last till the end of the day even in a pinch.

The drama about not being able to use the accessories while being charged is a bit over played here.

I have been using Panasonic Eneloop batteries in my accessories and have been pretty happy. I'm not going to rush out and buy the new ones, but I'd much rather be able to just plug in a lightning cable from time to time than have to find a coin and swap out batteries. Just hoping that Apple is including a lightning cable with each of these (and they are...I just checked).

Very nice offerings. Maybe now the 6 people who swear Apple would never release these without holding an October event can finally knock it off.

Ordered all 3 accessories. Happy to be done going through so many AA's. Been noticing it a lot lately.

What sounds like a good price to you? There is nothing like this product on the market. Amazingly no other company can even come close to making an equally good trackpad.

How about half the price? I think I'll just buy the previous version for a lot less and a few spare batteries with plenty of cash leftover.

Apple made a huge mistake on their Australian press release statements for this.

From the US press release:

From the Australian press release:

Looks like in Australia Snow Leopard is the most advanced operating system haha. I know that's just a typo but it's funny. I can laugh at it as I am Australian.

The Australian press release you linked is from 2010...

No USB-C on the new iMac's, strange. I thought they were really going to start pushing that across all there lines (in addition to the standard USB connections of course).

Honestly, from a technical standpoint i have no idea, why they are doing this. It feels like a money grab move, before the whole industry switches to USB/C. Also the new lightning mac periphery totally contradicts their bolt move with the one USB C on the 12'' Macbook. You need a USB adapter and a lightning cable to charge your Magic Mouse 2 with it. What?!

Yeah, the trackpad used to cost £49.99 (at least it did went I bought mine), now it costs £109! Insane. And £79 for a keyboard?! I was just about to hit the 'buy' button then I said to myself "What the hell are you doing?" and cancelled. Need to think about it as this is not an impulse buy.

I bought both models for a total of 110€ (on sale around 2011). Despite taxes, inflation and currency fluctuation i think they priced themselves out of the market. Especially without improvements like backlit and numpad on the keyboard, the lack of haptic feedback on the trackpad and the lack of Force Touch on the Mouse.

The 21" 4k still only has integrated graphics - no thanks. The larger version has a laptop GPU from AMD. As for the new keyboard would have preferred it to be backlit with the option to turn it off. Like the new trackpad - might get one. As for the magic mouse 2 no mention of its optical technology - blue or red led or something like Darkfield. These new accessories charge via lightning to USB cables. However the latest is not always the best. The previous generation used AA batteries and Apple sold a charger with 6 AA batteries Made in Japan and NiMH and lasted for years. No AA batteries means when they died that's it as you have no secondary power source quickly - you then have to revert to using a cable. Whereas with AA batteries no cables required so looking for more power is quite simple. Im sure run time on the new models is not as long as the older AA models.

Display screen stand alone! Where is it already? Been years since an upgrade. Those of us with MacBooks don't need another computer, we just need a display screen!

I have the trackpad now. Will upgrade to the magic one. I prefer this to the mouse and although I don't really see the use of force touch even on my iphone 6s, I am interested in the larger surface and the new design.

The lack of Skylake is a deal breaker.

The lack of BTO of a dedicated GPU on the 21.5 is a real DEAL BREAKER. How insane.
This is the one thing that really surprised me.. am I mistaken or is get dedicated graphics on the 21.5" no longer a possibility? There goes any chance of me upgrading mine as I'd planned to do within the coming months.. going to have to look to alternatives :/

I wonder why Apple did not integrate haptic feedback into the trackpad? The 21" iMacR seems like an ok offering. As others have noted, I'm also surprised that Apple has not made Fusion Drives standard. Our work 2012 iMac has one and has been great - speed similar to the rMBP and MBA we use, with the extra inexpensive space provided by the HDD.
