They have a 14 day return policy.

I know but the comp is too large to return and re-set up as I had to do a BTO for the 1tb fusion drive. Also was purchased as a friends and family discount. Still, a bit upsetting as I legit had no idea that the 27 was going to be updated.

Aw damn, no new keyboard version with the right number pad. Shame.

My first word after reading this was the German word for S***.
I really would like to know why it is so difficult for Apple to release a wireless keyboard with numbers.

Yes, most people do not need it, but it should be an option for business users.
3rd party options usually look horrible and do not have the same feel and look.
It makes me laugh when somebody attempts to develop a clip to put their numeric pad together with the regular keyboard.

Thinking through this, why couldn't they make a trackpad with number keys (plenty of space still for all other swiping etc. or explore/develop a gesture that would bring up on an onscreen number pad?

I already put rechargeable batteries in my magic mouse, and I use a solar powered logitech k750 keyboard (with numeric keypad) which I love...I don't need batteries! If they brought force touch to the mouse, it might be worth it to upgrade. Otherwise, it is a huge step up in price...I'll wait till I get a new mac to try the keyboard. Very overpriced, and I am not terribly impressed.

It's worse than a fail. It's the end of the Mac if they……………..
Ah, but Apple makes money (even if it's mostly from phones and the like), screams the fanatics! Therefore they are 100% right at all times! LOL.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. It might be a while before it becomes the end of Apple tho.

Very nice offerings. Maybe now the 6 people who swear Apple would never release these without holding an October event can finally knock it off.

Ordered all 3 accessories. Happy to be done going through so many AA's. Been noticing it a lot lately.

Was also frustrated by the heavy battery use and switched to eneloop batteries plus charger.
Expensive initial investment, but piece of mind and environmental protection.
These work great.

Will last for 5 years.

Have been waiting on this update (to the 21") for two years... And it's such a bad deal I'll pass. Totally unreal that they kept HDD as standard and offered no dGPU with a 4K screen.

Been using macs since an LCIII (25mhz processor! Woohoo!) and really wanted a desktop. This is the first time in my life I'll seriously consider a PC. Beyond disappointing.

Everyone who waited for skylake must be breathing a HUGE sigh of relief. Nice upgrade to the processor - more speed, less heat!

Shame about the AMD GPU, though. Would have killed for nVidia.

Does OX have force touch implemented in it? I thought that was only for iOS9.

Force touch came out with the new Macbook Pro refresh in May this year.

EDIT: I should add that it basically just gives you the same functions that the 3 finger touch on the trackpad provided. Expect now you can just do it with 1 finger with a harder press.

There are also a couple of native apps that have enhanced controls which couldn't be archived without the force touch. You can press the forward and rewind buttons in quicktime to change the speeds in which you scrub at. The zoom rate in maps is mapped to the amount of force you use.

Thirty party apps like Pixelmator has used the force touch API to allow pressure sensitivity with the brush sizes etc. But other than those few examples i really haven't had much use out of it.

Keyboard looks smarter but was expecting something a little more for the magic mouse, will look at picking up both later in year nonetheless.

I can’t find where that is actually quoted by Apple on their site, can you help with that point? Also nine hours of sitting there doing nothing is not nine hours of use. I’m asking myself if that is what is being spoken about.

I couldn't find it referenced on Apple's site either, so it must have been mentioned by the Apple rep during their demo.
I'm sure they mean nine hours of "normal use" - Apple doesn't usually game their battery performance claims too much, so until I hear otherwise, I'm willing to take them at their word.

It looks like I can order the 27" at $1799, upgrade to 1TB flash and 16mb of ram for a total of $2090. Selecting the $1999 base model and adding the 16mb option brings it to $2199. The machines specs look to be identical at that point but upgrading from the $1799 model saves you $100 bucks. Am I missing something?

Yup in fact it's the same rebadged M295x. So we've been using the 28nm dGPU's since what? 2012? I also seriously question the continued use of AMD when they may not even be a company anymore in the next year or two.

Another questionable choice is the use of DDR3 on skylake. Skylake has shown quite a bit of improvement when paired with fast DDR4 instead of DDR3. For the exorbitant prices Apple is charging for RAM upgrades, it should by DDR4!

I have the Apple rechargeable batteries for my Magic Mouse, and they last 3-4 weeks. To me, the 45 seconds it takes to replace them seems a lot less trouble than storing yet another cable, stretching behind the iMac to plug it in and out, and waiting 2 hours to recharge.

Oh right. I’m in an industry where batteries are used a lot, (admittedly we don’t use Lithium Ion), and just have a hard time believing that 2 minutes charge would give you nine hours of use.
