Kinda wish they'd discontinue the iPod touch line, and make an iPhone Voice + Cell Data, Cell Data only, and a WiFi only version. I could see that simplifying R&D.

How would this differ from what they're doing? The iPod Touch line is already an iPhone minus the cellular data... if you want an iPod Touch with cellular data, then you're just talking about an iPhone... buy an older generation iPhone if you specifically want the lower price point... this thing is identical to the iPhone 7, so just get an old one of those.

For those asking who is the customer or why no redesign, probably don't realize Apple sells a large number of these devices in to the retail and customer service industry. Several companies make sleds that can act as bar code readers and/or POS credit card terminals. By not changing the form factor, companies don't have to wait for the sled manufacturers to update their product.

Would you pay $800 for an iPhone XS without cellular? I think that's probably the extreme low end of the pricing if all they do is remove a modem.

Sorry. I just got an Redmond Note 5 about two weeks ago. At 179 Canadian Dollar.

32GB iPod Touch starts at 249 Canadian... Like other Apple Product, this is way overpriced

perhaps if they removed the cameras it could shave some cost and have a nicer slim/no bezel design.

I like the iPod, I don't use many apps on my iPhone and frankly use my iPhone less and upgrade even less. for the price point (for me) its better to snag a cheap low storage iPhone and get an iPod with more storage for music consumption.
