You don't seem to get it - for 90% (95%?) of people, the iPad Pro is more than enough computer, because all they want to do is browse the web, email, and use Facebook and other social media.

Yeah, which means that for those 95% the fecking iPad Air is perfect for doing those tasks. It's not a "super computer" they'd be needing..

The iPad PRO.. Does the name not suggest something more than two extra speakers and a bigger screen?

iPad Air - lighter,
iPad mini - smaller...
iPad Pro - Biggerer..

Believe me I get it.. I got it at the launch and the feeble attempt Apple did then of marketing this as anything other than a bigger iPad. I get it from the year on year flagging sales of iPad.

Tim continues the war on the Mac.

Tim STOP telling us what's good for us and what we need to use, the iPad is NOT a replacement for a Mac.

The iPad is a media consumption device with a neutered OS for simpletons and a small screen.

Good take off the Mac vs PC ad's in the old days except there is only one guy..

Apple likes to keep describing the iPad Pro as a computer and it is,, but so is anything else with graphics performance..

Instead, Apple should be focusing on ads for "This is an iPad Pro, Its right for *most* people, but you still need a Mac to do other tasks"

Besides, didn't we go through all of this already with the iPhone ? I think we know it all by now.

Were these ads made on the iPad Pro? No? Funny that.

I don't want to go back to windows, but Apple is trying so hard to kill off its Mac brand. Post "PC" world my arse. Ironically, Its going to be a "PC" only world by default at this rate.

Here's the thing... when are laptops going to come with cellular modems as well as wifi built in?

There are some available. Back in the mid 00's and early 10's, they were more popular. As Smartphones's have become more prevalent, these have started to disappear as I think most developers just assume you'll either use your phone for mobile communication, or you'll tether.

But I agree, there is definitely a need (even if it's a niche one) for Cellular connected laptops

Don't pull numbers out of your butt :p

You and the guyyou're responding too are both showing a lot of confirmation bias.

at the end of the day. we don't know, and don't have any numbers that say "This is what x amount of people do" that you're both trying to bolster behind.

What we do know:

  • Tablet sales are declining at a faster rate than Laptop and pre-built computer sales, which are also declining.
  • 2 in 1 sales are the only growing pre-built PC Segment that is growing right now.
  • Everyone has different use cases.
