I am American and have very little knowledge of what you can and can't do in other countries. I know from my limited schooling that generally speaking we have the best government, healthcare, and economy in the world but I don't know the exact details
Its funny that Americans supposedly learn this in school, I thought people are supposed to learn facts in school. Anyway right from the top of my head Norway or Sweden has you beaten in just about all those categories.
The idea is, if you don't know something why do you assume? Because you learned it in your Americans schools?

Most of our suspiciously large homeless population are that way as a result of the mental illness that we refuse to recognize or treat in our country, rather than people that went too deeply into debt. Going deeply into debt being a great idea is the cornerstone of our society so we can't allow many examples of that approach going poorly or we stop funneling money to the billionaires and corporations that control our deliberately ineffective two party system of government. I don't understand why you're so opposed to financing all of the iPhones and Macs and houses and cars that you could possibly want - it's great for me, it's great for the powers that be, and the society is built to support it. Perfect alignment of interests

Sounds like not a very logical excuse. Most homeless people in US are like that because of mental illness? yeah right. And didn't you say you are supposed to have the best healthcare system. Definitely doesn't sound right.
Anyway, cars, phones, laptops and so on are just things, my mental health and financial security are more important than owning all the latest toys. Most of the things I finance I can also pay in cash on the spot if I wanted to. A lot of Europeans think like this, especially experienced people.
I'm happy that you can afford a lot of things, but for the rest of us common working folks, the magic of freedom and financing exist so that we can have the same stuff you do but without being able to afford it and with the small caveat that
Honestly I don't see any magic or freedom.
if anything goes wrong we may have to declare bankruptcy and wait a few years to start over
Yeah, no thank you.

I have the opposite problem where sometimes people will call me, and they can’t hear me at all as if I’m on mute. No amount of button pressing seems to un mute me. If they call back it then works. Anyone else had that?
Yes, I have had this happen quite a bit. Also happens when a voice prompt asks for audio input and I have to hang up and try again because the automated system says, “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear that…”). Extremely annoying.

"Apple says the repair program covers affected iPhone 12 or 12 Pro devices for two years after the first retail sale of the device."

So does Apple think this is something that, if it's going to fail, will fail within two years? Makes me wonder about my decision not to spend the $179 for AppleCare+ for my iPhone 12 Pro since the device might have some issue that's really a defect, but doesn't get covered under the warranty.

And yes, I think that if they know what component causes it, and when and where those components were installed, they should be able to specify a list of serial numbers.

More like locked into really neat stuff. The debt is a problem for future me, and there are so many like me that if I ever can't pay it I'll just get bailed out. Why would I not just finance everything that I want? I am a microcosm of my country
I think you need a financial advisor if that’s truly your mindset of thinking.
