To make more people use Apple Pay, Apple could choose random people every day and pay for a user’s particular purchase. Bingo baby!
I have never figured out how to successfully use Apple Pay on my Watch, I just use my iPhone. I'm going on a big trip this summer so will be using Apple Pay quite a lot and keep my wallet safe in my fanny pack.
I'm amazed how many people wearing an AW pull out their credit card at the store ... ApplePay on the AW is one of my favorite features ...
Apple Pay has been around 8 years and they still have to remind people that it exists, kind of sad and not on Apples part.
...Unless its at a Walmart in the United Status then you won't be paying the Apple way.
To do Apple Pay at Walmart I load my Apple CC in the Walmart account and then scan the QR code and choose Apple CC payment. Closest that I can get.![]()
Yeah, are you listening, Walmart? And Home Depot?Worse is when I see them scrolling through their phone, they put it away, and pull out their cards!
I use it almost everywhere except Walmart. Unfortunately for Walmart, I have to use Walmart Pay, but I will live. I just need Home Depot on board and I don't even need to carry a wallet at all!
I’m in the US and I find I only have to touch my card once a month if that.👍
Pretty much the same experience for me.
Travelling in Europe, South America has been smooth as butter only using my iPhone.
Africa? Not so much… USA? Also, not so much.
Here in the UK the only time I need cash is for my monthly haircut, A3 colour photocopies at the library and… buying The Big Issue. Most days I only leave the house with my keys and iPhone. Oh and headphones! 🙂
This always fails for me. 90% of the time I just end up pulling out my phone and using ApplePay that way. Is there a science behind how you place your arm on the reader? I can't believe I'm asking this. You just open the Watch app, then go to Wallet and set it up. Very easy and straight forward.
well, I can actually appreciate people using cash as a means to better control their finances (vs accumulating credit card debt), but that is another story ...Worse is when people wearing an AW pull out their wallet and pay cash. Happens a lot in Mexico.
You're not wrong! This always fails for me. 90% of the time I just end up pulling out my phone and using ApplePay that way. Is there a science behind how you place your arm on the reader? I can't believe I'm asking this.
Mine's linked to my debit cards so no credit running up.well, I can actually appreciate people using cash as a means to better control their finances (vs accumulating credit card debt), but that is another story ...
At least with the cash they aren’t bypassing what’s in front of them like with people who wear an Apple watch and still rummage for a card.well, I can actually appreciate people using cash as a means to better control their finances (vs accumulating credit card debt), but that is another story ...
You need to figure it out. I’m a huge fan of apple pay on my watch. Especially when traveling because I don’t have to pull my phone out to pay which gives me more juice in the phone for photos.I have never figured out how to successfully use Apple Pay on my Watch, I just use my iPhone. I'm going on a big trip this summer so will be using Apple Pay quite a lot and keep my wallet safe in my fanny pack.
You have to flip the screen side towards the card reader. This always fails for me. 90% of the time I just end up pulling out my phone and using ApplePay that way. Is there a science behind how you place your arm on the reader? I can't believe I'm asking this.
Do have launch the Wallet on the Watch itself or it works just like the phone you just hover it near the terminal and it pops up?What problem are you having? all you have to do is double-click the side button and hold the watch near the terminal.
yea, US is still lagging more than really needed to be ...👍
Pretty much the same experience for me.

Exactly like your phone...add your cards in the watch app, double tap the side button on the watch to open the wallet, (it opens to your default card), swipe to the card you want, and tap. I use it 5 times per day easily. All your apple wallet cards are there too...boarding passes, movie tix...I have never figured out how to successfully use Apple Pay on my Watch, I just use my iPhone. I'm going on a big trip this summer so will be using Apple Pay quite a lot and keep my wallet safe in my fanny pack.
Totally agree. I ask in USA and the rep is like, "whats that?"...just got back from a London trip this weekend...EVERYWHERE took apple pay.yea, US is still lagging more than really needed to be ...
my last trip to Europe, London, never used anything but AW and definitely enjoyed riding the tube that way, Germany, different story, lots of places still don't even take credit cards ...
I always use a chip card, so I don't carry cash either, but I have to keep my wallet on me because of my drivers license and other ID type stuff.I haven't used a card or cash since I got my iPhone and AW. It works everywhere (even when getting taxis, for instance). I know i could use my debit or credit card as well, but then I'd need my wallet, which is a pain.
last time I did this was last Ep when I got my Ultra, but if you're setup on the phone, you can use the watch app on the phone, enable Apple Pay and then add each card ...Do have launch the Wallet on the Watch itself or it works just like the phone you just hover it near the terminal and it pops up?
