Amazing because I found both to be crap - especially iOS 9. A lot of apps crashing. Photoshop had some odd behaviors on an i7 iMac with 32 GB RAM.

I thought they were 2 of the worst betas. I accept the issues as part of the experience and reported every problem. I just find it hard to believe that anyone would call them complete.

Everyone's mileage varies, I guess. Aside from one incompatible game, iOS 9 and OSX10.11 has been rock solid on all my Apple devices. I am actually seeing improved performance on my 5s and iPad mini 2, though my iPad's battery life does seem to be draining faster than normal.

I've seen that and it just proves the point really. Same with videos on the Twitter app.

And I would say it proves my point. Especially the YouTube app. I can still search for other videos while having it on in the "background". Yes the video is not in ideal watching form, but my user experience is maintained.

I am pretty happy too with Ios 9 on my iphone. Battery is better, things run smooth. Only 3rd party keyboards have a hard time to show

IpadAir is another story. Notes app crashes on Startup, battery is worse and 3rd party keyboards are a desaster

Opposite for me. iPhone is still usable but has crashing issues and the screen and other things just don't work. iPad 4gen works flawlessly with almost no issues or lag like before on official OS.

I updated to OS X 10.11 and now gmail is unresponsive in Safari 9.0. Gmail works fine in Chrome. Did anyone else have this issue and perhaps has a workaround?

Guys, I'm trying to install this beta since the moment it's out on Thu (07/09), but every time I click on 'Download profile', I see 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR. Here are the few things that I tried hoping to get rid of:
1. Tried other browsers like Chrome, Opera, Dolphin...but no luck.
2. Erased browser cache/history, and re-tried...still no luck!
3. Tried both on Wi-Fi & network data, but of no use.

So, am I missing something? PLEASE HELP!

Also to verify, I clicked on the 'Download profile' option of 8.4 beta, and it worked fine (got a popup to install), but nothing's happening and I get this 'Internal Server Error' for iOS 9 profile.

Could this be an issue from the APPLE server side otherwise?

Thanks.

Can anyone give some update on what sort of resource footprint El-Capitan uses, especially in compared to Yosemite?

whats the memory pressure on first boot? CPU utilization at idle? doing simple tasks? and the like?

Considering I have asked this simple technical question on 5 different forums/boards and ZERO responses isn't promising.

either peopple don't want to admit something, or the average user who claims to be so intelligent doesn't understand basic concepts of memory management.

Or, more likely, no one can be arsed

Just noticed that when you download an application that isn't identified, you still get the message saying cannot open the app; however, when you got Security in El Capitan, there is an Open Anyway button present for the app you just tried to open. So no longer do you need to change settings to open your app.

That was in Yosemite as well, been doing that for a while now.

What is the point of this request? We all have different apps loading upon boot, different hardware, different everything. My 2015 MBP has extremely low memory pressure and low utilization. The OS seems pretty responsive, but it is hard to compare to Yosemite because most of the apps I use are buggy. Mail has crashed on me more than once. I have been having several issues with Safari requiring many quit/relaunches. And don't even get me started on third-party apps. So, nobody can really answer your questions since there are so many variables.

sad isn't it?

it'll take anyone about 30 seconds to check
I reverted back to Yosemite.

People may not have the Yosemite numbers you're asking to compare to.

Anyone having occasional resprings on iPhone, leaving Wifi & Bluetooth greyed out when it comes back? Takes me 3-4 reboots to get it back again. Happened twice in 24 hours....

Pretty shortly after a reboot, with a few Apps open (Safari, Slack, iTunes, Activity Monitor, App Store and Mail):

CPU idling: 90-94%
Memory pressure: Flat on the bottom (8GB/5.7 User/1.7GB Cached/0 Swap)

Anyone else having wi-fi issues??? I'm having a bizarre scenario where I can only get through to certain web sites - and other simply wont load - plus can't get mail??? I did the El Capitan Beta on the Mac and IoS9 not he 6plus - so I don't know which one is causing the issue!

I cant wait for the next beta. Is someone using the feedback app. I always report issues when I encounter. But there's an inbox. They are supposedly to reply to you after they received your feedback??

My MBP 2010 (the special version with the higher resolution) crashed more then 10 times a day (!) with Yosemite. I thought it was my logic board / video chip that was broken. Since El Capitan life is great again; no crash whatsoever; a responsive OS. Happy again ;-)

hey, at least thats an honest response.

the reason for my request is to try and figure out if I will be ugprading my 2011 MBA to El Capitan, or having to leave it on Yosemite.

No fault of anyones but my own, I was cheap when I bought it and only purchased the 2gb RAM model. So the amount of ram the system uses is a critical bit of information I need to determine if it is worth it for me.

For Example, Lion / Mountain lion on fresh install, will use approximately. 1.5GB of actual ram, leaving enough for basic uses.
Mavericks used about 2.1GB on fresh install, making the system nearly unusable.
Yosemite is a bit better, running around 1.8GB.

if El-Capitan is around the same, or better, than I'll upgrade, but if they go back over 2GB for base RAM usage, I'll have to avoid it.

and yes, these numbers do not reflect "caching" and are actual real RAM usage numbers

This beta isn't terrible. But I'm not that impressed on my 6 plus. Lots of lag and sometimes my screen goes dark and have to do a reset of my phone. Honestly, its been really good on my iPad air 2 though strangely enough..

Horrible on my 6+ plenty of apps crashing and the ones that do open have serious lag. Screen orientation is not working and I keep losing cellular data. We can't go back to 8.4 right?
