The markup feature in Mail is absolutely amazing for iOS 9. No more needing to take a picture, open Skitch, markup, save to Camera Roll, go to Mail, insert picture.

If it helps, here is a video on hidden features I found helpful:

I don't know if anyone realized this, but all apps are now sorted A-Z in Notification settings.

I've got it running on an iPhone 5S. Can someone explain to me 1) if picture-in-picture works on an iPhone 5S, 2) is it native to iOS9 for all apps that have video or does the app need to be updated, 3) if it is supported on an iPhone 5S, how do you initiate it?

!... I've been wanting this for the better part of a decade. Never understood their sorting method on that.
Yep same here. So annoying, but glad it is fixed.

PIP is only available on iPad if I understand correctly. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone else having Vuze not working? It opens, appears to run, but cannot click or do anything, beachballing. The supplemental update doesn't change it. Wanna make sure it's not just me and see if anyone has a workaround to make it work. I know things break on a beta.

Personally, I don't see the point on PiP on an iPhone, it's going to be so small, it's pointless. Maybe on a 6 Plus, but otherwise, why?!

Yea I understand that, but a lot of live events have that 30-60 second ad lead-in to videos. So, say I'm at work and watching a sporting event, every time I exit and do something quick (reply to an email, text, etc). I have to reset and watch the ad again. It's more about maintaining the viewing experience than wanting to watch the video and do more work at the same time. Yes, app developers could fix that themselves, but that's not the point. I see PIP as maintaining a seamless experience, which video on an iPhone does not always maintain.

The iPhone processor can probably support picture in picture, but the problem is that the screen real estate does NOT support picture in picture.

The keyboard takes up 50% of the screen. The rest is for a cramped app. How are you gonna fit a video? It would have to be postage stamp-sized and would still obscure content.

It might have still been a cool selling point for the iPhone but I still understand apple for refusing to pretend that our phones are tablets/desktop computers with large screen multitasking.

Just noticed that when you download an application that isn't identified, you still get the message saying cannot open the app; however, when you got Security in El Capitan, there is an Open Anyway button present for the app you just tried to open. So no longer do you need to change settings to open your app.

Installed El Cap on a Mac Pro. It's the most complete beta of OS X I have ever seen in 15 years. I just need Nvidia drivers and I would be happy to use it as full time OS.

Installed iOS 9 on iPad Air 2. Is this a beta? ;) could have fooled me. It feels very fast and feature complete.

I'm sure developers and certain users will find serious bugs in both but my experience has been top notch.

How do you report iOS 9 bugs? I didn't receive instructions on how to report behavior issues or app crashes . It was like 'backup device', 'install iOS 9', 'have fun'.

Right. I get that as noted in my
point above, it's about maintaining the seamless experience of video viewing. Yes screen real estate is an issue, but they have the side hidden view as an option, so it could be managed.

Use the feedback app that's installed with the beta.

Well, the YouTube app already had such a feature, so we can use it to infer how such a feature might work on a system level. Video is small to the point of being unwatchable. I can see it being useful on a 6+ though.

I've seen that and it just proves the point really. Same with videos on the Twitter app.

Amazing because I found both to be crap - especially iOS 9. A lot of apps crashing. Photoshop had some odd behaviors on an i7 iMac with 32 GB RAM.

I thought they were 2 of the worst betas. I accept the issues as part of the experience and reported every problem. I just find it hard to believe that anyone would call them complete.

When you ran "sudo trimforce enable", did it say "Operation not permitted"? Is that what you meant?

Or... are you talking about getting an error when trying to disable rootless?

You're right. Sorry!

I got an error when I tried to "disable rootless" as I thought I had to. Then I followed that up with the "sudo trimforce enable" which worked.

Thank you very much for getting back to me with the answer! Several people have now confirmed that "trimforce" finally works even when Rootless is enabled. Fantastic news for everybody (except for Cindori's Trim Enabler, of course*), since it means that anybody can now enable perfect, safe and persistent TRIM support with a single command, and won't even have to fiddle with Rootless anymore.

The OS X TRIM Tutorial has now been updated to reflect these changes:

* I still recommend that SSD owners purchase his newer "Disk Sensei" (click) product. Not just to support him and thank him for years of giving out TRIM support for free, but because it's actually a very effective SSD maintenance tool. It shows your disk health, lifetime writes (lets you predict when it will fail and need to be replaced), visualize your disk space as a navigable pie chart, do benchmarks, enable performance tweaks that extend the life of your SSD (such as "noatime" disabling of access time logging, which greatly cuts down on SSD writes), see a list of exactly which apps abuse the SSD by writing constantly to it, etc. It's a fantastic product and well worth a try.

So far iOS 9 is pretty good. I like the improvements. The ability to jot and scribble in the notes app is nice, something I was able to do in the notes app on my Windows phone (PocketPC phone) way back in 2002.
There's a few things not working/I don't like. Seems the swipe to the right for the spotlight search is back, so I can swipe down or swipe right and search. The ability to swipe up on lock screen to open camera app is gone from my phone. It's there for iPad.
