Here's a question, I enrolled with the iOS beta (and have the feedback app now) I then went to software update and it appears to have downloaded the beta, however when I hit install I get an error message (unable to install), so now I have a notification badge on my update but can't seem to install..... If I can never get it to install will the next iOS update just override it or do I have to find a way to remove it?
Go into Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and there should be an option to delete the update.

Try again. Installed for me on the second attempt.

Too many people are downloading it, perhaps? I downloaded it right when it was released with no issues. Try again tomorrow.

Did Apple take a way the feutre that when you press a alphabet it doesn't pop up in iOS 9 ??

Just throwing my hat in the ring here. WatchOS 1.0.1 works fine with any beta of iOS 9, I've been running them both since the first beta. As far as iOS 9 beta performance goes, yes beta 1 was really bad. Beta 2 and 3 are much improved and as someone mentioned yesterday, I've gotten better battery life on the last two betas than I ever did with iOS 8 FWIW. As a note of caution, if you somehow had Safari Developer preview 9.0.1 installed on your Yosemite machine, DO NOT UPDATE TO EL CAPITAN. Safari will crash upon launch and there is currently no fix. I had to downgrade my machine. Also as others have mentioned, if you use Java programs (Eclipse or something similar) the Java issue that corrupts Safari is also at play here, so be warned.

Anyone running tbis on iPad Air? Would like to go for it but not sure. Can't until tomorrow when I can back up the iPad to the computer anyway. Any info you guys have would be great! :)

I got email invite and was able to go to website. I was able to d/l and install on ipad mini and works great. News app IS there, able to use the multitasking... only thing haven't tried yet is the picture in picture..

Just got my round of invites. This time I was invited to both iOS9 and El Captain - previously I was just invited to OSX beta.

I'm seeing multiple reports from people (as well as myself) that Apple News has not been included in iOS 9 Public Beta 1. The app simply doesn't exist on this OS.

Edit: I'm being informed that public beta testers in the US do have Apple News. Seems to be a US only thing right now, which is totally dumb.

My 6+ seems frozen during the install. White screen, black apple, and update bar along the bottom not showing any signs of progress. Thoughts?

EDIT: took the chance and did a hard reset. White screen came up saying Slide To Update, which I did. Took me back to the same screen as above...white, black apple, update bar with no progress.

Can anyone say if their phone was like that for a while and if so how long?

DOUBLE EDIT: after sitting on this screen for a couple minutes it began taking me through the set up process so I guess it worked

For those using the beta:

Have they fixed trimforce yet? Do you still have to turn off Rootless before you can do "sudo trimforce enable" without errors?

  1. Launch gdisk normally:

    sudo gdisk /dev/disk0

  2. Enter d to delete a GPT entry, and enter number 4 when it asks which one.

  3. Enter n to create a new GPT entry, and enter number 4 when it asks which one.

  4. Enter 879450112 as the first sector.

  5. Enter 976183295 as the last sector.

  6. Enter 0700 as the hex code.

  7. Enter w to save the changes, then y to confirm.
That should do it. If you need to stop and start over at any point, hit control+C.

Thanks for the help! I found this same walk through elsewhere and when you press V, its supposed to show you the exact partition mismatch, but for me it says this:

"No problems found. 13 free sectors (6.5 KiB) available in 2

segments, the largest of which is 7 (3.5 KiB) in size."

So I'm not sure why I am getting any issues when trying to install El Cap.

I got 2 emails from Apple for iOS 9 and El Capitan saying try out the beta, but when I click on the link or go to beta.apple.com, the page just doesn't load. I'm guessing server could be busy... but anyone else face this?

Edit - looks like it is down: http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/beta.apple.com.html

Their beta website is not loading for me.
I think it is the typical too many people downloading at one time. I'm trying too, and I gave up. Will wait a day or two and try again. Maybe. I had the first beta on my phone and it was killing the battery, as betas often do. So I'm not sure I want to deal with buggy software again before the official release.

you are correct i rescind my original comment. i reread the dev notes for B3 and there's a very small blurb at the bottom of the page that makes a ref to WatchOS 1.

However this was not the case in B1 & B2.

You need iOS 9 to run watchOS 2 but you don't need watchOS 2 to run iOS 9.

This thread has gotten a little confusing with regards comments about Watch OS. Am I right in thinking that there is no public Watch OS 2 beta that we can install?
