Depends on when it was originally bought. They do replace them (well "should") if it is the anti-reflective coating issue (yours look "typical", should qualify) within 3 years from purchase. Print out the image below and show it to an authorized Apple repair center. Even if you don't have the original receipt I guess they can somehow find out when it was purchased.

Noticed a very small area on the black bezel of my mid-2015 MBP that looks like this issue. It's very small but it's extremely annoying. Do you think Apple with entertain a replacement for such a small area? My worry is it will only get worse and I'd rather not wait for that. I have Apple Care until July 2018.

I would take it in and see. Can't see a reason why Apple wouldn't replace the display even though it's only on the bezel. I took my sisters mid 2014 in for this problem and it was only on the bezel and they replaced the display no problem.

Hopefully. It's not very big so my worry is they may not see it as an issue. I'm not sure how they assess the issue.

Actually I just gently rubbed it and now it's doubled in size, so it's clearly coming away very easily now and won't be long before it's massive.

Booked in to Genius Bar on Tuesday.

I've not had a repair done by Apple before, is it a length process? I use my laptop for work so kinda need it.

It depends if the store has the display for your model in stock. I was told 3 - 5 business days for the repair and then got a phone call on the afternoon of the same day I took the macbook in for the genius bar appointment saying it was fixed and ready for pick up.

I asked my local Apple dealer, that is an authorized service center for Apple, if I could keep my machine and that they phone me when they got the new screen and have time to replace it. Non standard procedure but they were ok with that. You can always ask :)

Now Apple Sweden refused to acknowledge the Apple Quality Program for the anti-reflective coating issue so I never got my screen replaced ;(

I work from home and my MacBook Pro 15" is my main computer for work. But I have always had a spare 13" MacBook Air in case I have to turn in my main computer for service. I would not dare rely on just one computer for work and my 15" has been in for AppleCare service many many times.

That's worrying that an official Apple store in Sweden wouldn't acknowledge an official Apple Quality Program! I hope I don't have the same in the UK.

My work have given me a Lenovo windows laptop to cover me for a repair.

Milton Keynes Apple Store fixed my 13" yesterday and did a great job. Dropped it off and got it back fixed in less than two hours. Talking to the guy on pick-up they weren't aware of a deadline for this quality program and I think they would be very understanding if your machine fell slightly outside of the three year window.

Just seen this, the exact store I'm going to (I live in MK), this reassures me.

Has anyone bought up the fact that if they replace the screen, it will eventually happen again? Or have they fixed the inherent issue?

I asked the question when I collected my machine. I was told that they've changed the coating or the way it is applied to the screen so that it should happen again.

Took a photo of this little beauty... hope they replace it no questions.

Update. Had my appointment with Apple Genius at 12:50 today. Within 40 seconds they had booked my MBP in for a screen replacement, which will be complete in 2 hours. Fantastic result!

The cost otherwise would have been £588. Ouch.

Man just saw this thread and looks like I'm too late. Just noticed some of the staining issue on the bezel of my 2013 MacBook Pro. Why don't they contact registered owners of the quality program? Maybe I missed an email/letter?

I have mid-2014 MBP 13". Just noticed few stained areas on areas and one area over few cm total area in the middle of screen. Is it valid case for screen replacement? As the one in the middle of screen is quite annoying and very visible during usage. Should apply for the "3 years" requirement as mid-2014 MBP cannot be 3 years old yet.

My early-2015 rMBP has started to peel by the iSight camera and on the top right edge.

Surprising because my mid-2012 rMBP never had this problem.

Yes. Mine was small (see pic above)

My Macbook Pro is an 2014 and I am so sad because it's look ugly, you paid like a $2000 for a excellent product.

I had my display exchanged in Jul last year. Few days back I have noticed it had the same issue. I have an appointment in Apple Store and let you know. MacBook Pro 13 Retina late 2013 model, purchased Jul 2014.

Did you have AppleCare? Or are you under warranty?
[doublepost=1488142594][/doublepost]Which models are affected by this?
As far as I can tell it's to 2014?
Are the 15" models also affected or is it only 13"?

My mid 2015 25" was build January 2017 so let's hope that I'm not affected.
I got AppleCare for 3 years so.

Just spoke to apple chat support and sent them this pic, they said they will repair it for free no problem but they don't have the parts. I need to 'check back' in a few days.

Just attempting to get a second display repair on my MacBook Pro (mid-2014)

It seems that even the 2015 mbp(which I will buy next month) is still experiencing this issue. Did anyone tried putting a protector on the screen? Like the ones we put on the screen of our phones. Does it help? Because even if apple will fix it, you know it will still occur right.
