I asked my local Apple dealer, that is an authorized service center for Apple, if I could keep my machine and that they phone me when they got the new screen and have time to replace it. Non standard procedure but they were ok with that. You can always ask
Now Apple Sweden refused to acknowledge the Apple Quality Program for the anti-reflective coating issue so I never got my screen replaced ;(
I work from home and my MacBook Pro 15" is my main computer for work. But I have always had a spare 13" MacBook Air in case I have to turn in my main computer for service. I would not dare rely on just one computer for work and my 15" has been in for AppleCare service many many times.
