Apple Launches watchOS 5 With Walkie-Talkie, Apple Podcasts, Siri Shortcuts, New Watch Faces, Raise to Speak and More

Macrumors jumped the gun here, methinks.

Apple was late. They were also about 5 minutes late on the pre-order.

The fact I know this and was staring at the clock in both instances makes me think I need to re-evaluate my life!

Already on iOS 12, uninstalled the beta profile and the update hasn't come up yet. Probably slowly rolling out and is being hammered like crazy right now too.

Edit: Connecting to WiFi made it pop up. Won't be able to update until I get home and put it on a charger.

Same here, I deleted the beta profile, restarted my phone and it hasn't come up yet. Should I also be seeing another iOS 12 update for my phone even if I installed the last beta which was the GM? I wonder if thats why nothing is showing in my Watch app...

I was on iOS12 beta and downloaded the GM. Not seeing any other available download so assuming that GM is it.

Download time went from 3 days to 6hours, so I guess it's an improvement. (1 gigabit connection btw)

How come a trillion dollar company can't handle the load? Saving money on transfer speeds is probably one reason haha

EDIT: I realize I've worded this poorly, but I don't mean to say that Glockworkorange is criticizing Apple this way. I was trying to parody an unspecific, stereotypical Apple critic.

I can finally turn off the Weather data source to get rid of the Sunrise/Sunset info I don’t care about.

On newer Apple Watch models, you no longer need to hold down the Digital Crown to activate Siri thanks to a new built-in "Raise to Speak" feature that lets you speak right into your wrist, and there's a dedicated Podcasts app for listening to Podcasts on Apple Watch.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I have the last beta on my iphone and no update is popping up for my watch.
