I know I'm in the minority, but I would rather have an OSX (with native iOS support of course) tablet. Say what you will, I'm enjoying my Surface Pro 3 and using my rMBP less and less. The Cintiq Companion would be a good buy but I don't like the 16:9 aspect. I guess the next thing will be the Surface Pro 4. I would much rather an OSX tablet as everything else I use is Apple. Oh well.

Did you not get enough attention as a child? Seriously, what is it with people needing to inject and self-deflect with ``Say what you want,...'' comments that add nothing to the conversation of the new iPad Pro, or any product?

Hey did you see the new Porsche Cayene?

Say what you want I'm happy with my Tourag. I really wish Cayene was $30,000 less expensive.

Seriously, thats your reply? I'm not allowed to not be happy with an Apple product? I'm sure the iPad Pro is nice and many will buy it, but at this point I believe Apple needs something more. I can't be disappointed in an Apple product in the discussion of said product.

Not much of a Porsche fan, I prefer my '15 Stingray Z51.

SP3 completely outclasses the iPP in all aspects if you do an equal comparison. I'm really surprised Apple put out a iPP of this poor quality. And this is just against the year old SP3. The SP4 is out next month, which will demolish all aspects of this iPPro. Sad day indeed for Apple iPad enthusiasts.

Very impressive hardware. I wonder what this will mean for the rest of the line. But so far, it just seems like a big iPad...I guess it will take developers to really make it shine.

I missed the announcement, it like the surface that runs a full version of OSx Yosemite? or is it just a big iOS device?

So the A9X must be a quad-core chip, running around 30% faster as well (around 2GHz).

The GPU performance increase is astounding, either they've doubled the clock speed to 900MHz (taking advantage of the new process) or doubled the number of GPU clusters to 16 (or maybe a combination of both, say 12 clusters at 600MHz).

It's also using LPDDR4, as the bandwidth is doubled over the old LPDDR3 support.

I am really torn here. On the hand I really like it, but I just cant get over the fact that you will get a surface pro 4 that is a full fledged pc for the same pricing (if not cheaper) soon.

I always wanted to draw on my iPad (with good stylus support). But for the same price I can use the desktop versions of autodesk, sketchbook, etc. on a surface pro.

The iOS apps have to seriously catch up here.

Maybe next year though.

well, if A9X CPU is 1.8 faster than the A8X, so it's GeekBench Score should be around 8100. and this is just too high! actually higher than all MB, MBA and 13" MBP models!
for sure it's a Quad core CPU, and has at least 3 GBs of ram.

Interesting they have used a "hard connection" for the keyboard.
Kind of validates all of the issues some Bluetooth keyboards have been having...

One nice thing about a hard docked keyboard, is it'll probably drain the iPad's battery less than a Bluetooth board. I have a Bluetooth keyboard for my Air and not only does having the Bluetooth radio running on the tablet drain the Air's battery faster, but I'm constantly having to charge the damn keyboard! Since I always use the keyboard with the iPad in the keyboard's case, it might as well be docked.

My mom got an original Apple iPad keyboard when she bought her iPad 1 and now uses it with her iPad 3. She wants to upgrade, but was worried the keyboard would be unusable - or at least a pain with a 30-pin to lightning converter of some kind. She may opt for the larger Pro just for the keyboard case. It's a lot slicker then my Bluetooth keyboard case.

You seem to be taking his criticism of this product a little too seriously. Resorting to insults because someone is critical of some underwhelming Apple device that you seem to like is not needed.

can the iPad Pro be connected to a MBP and used as a graphic tablet like a Wacom?

Bit disappointed no iPad Air 3 (but wasn't expecting it from the earlier rumours) so I suppose it will have to be the iPad Pro instead.
I know after a short while of using the 6 Plus that I didn't want to go back to a smaller screen, and I expect after using the iPad Pro for a short while that I will think the same too.

So I buy a $1079 iPad Pro + $69 Pencil thing + $179 cover with keyboard and have $1350 (approx) invested in a device that can;t do what an OS X laptop can do....

And this is good WHY?

Because it makes you *look* like a pro, especially in bling bling.
