And again Apple raised the prices for iPhones in Germany.. Now a 64GB 6s Plus costs around $200 more here than in the US. What's Tim doing with all that extra money..?!

This looks like an amazing accomplishment by Apple chip team - how could A9 be 70 percent faster on CPU and up to 90 percent faster GPU performance than A8 – its nothing short of magic.

Does anyone know if you need the 6S Force Touch in order to switch between apps by swiping from the edge of the screen?

Lol. Nope you can jailbreak and do it on any older device by installing a tweak. Crazy how many times Apple has more or less cloned existing tweaks. Even the animation is the exact same.

Girlfriend won't let me buy a "pink iPhone" so probably going with either silver or gold. Probably down sizing to the 6s. 6 Plus has been nice, but maybe a little too big for a phone.

Your girlfriend won't let you buy a pink iPhone? Why's that? Wonder where those insecurities stem from. Can't you stand up for yourself and buy whatever colour you want? It's going to be your phone after all.

A lot of the 3D touch actions you can mimic with just timed presses\holds. Slower of course but still....

agreed. When I try to change the watch face on my Apple Watch with Force Touch, I didn't feel like it was anything that different than changing the watch face on my Moto 360. With Moto 360, you just hold a little longer. Pressure sensitive touch still seems gimmicky to me, something that Samsung would do (they'll probably now...haha).

Sorry, but fudge your girlfriend. It's YOUR iPhone, YOUR choice. Period. You shouldn't let anyone decide for you.

Exactly!

Guh!

16GB was generous when it was storing the 3GS' 3 megapixel photos, MMSing was rare, and the apps on offer were only a few megabytes each.

But this is not a phone for that world. The camera in this phone is 12 megapixels and shoots video at 4K resolution. Even assuming it uses some hefty compression--48 Mbps is what Samsung uses and it makes the video look less than great--that means if you clear your base model phone of every photo, song, email, app, text, and contact--oh, and your operating system, you can store around 35 minutes of video on it. If you add that stuff back in, the video camera becomes less a feature and more a liability. Doubly so when you account for photos taking up many times more storage now and the average app being upwards of 50MB.

Do not buy a 16GB iPhone. If you're thinking about buying the iPhone 6S--which is totally understandable because it looks like it may well be the best phone out this year--but you can't swing the $100 jump to the 64GB model, buy last year's model or go for a different phone.

Apple is 100% behind its competition here. They're trying so hard to push people toward taking that $100 64GB jump and/or buying into cloud storage, but in doing so, they've created a sore spot in their product line--right at the bottom--where they actually have a product that will be incredibly frustrating to entry-level users to use.

im in such desperate need of a new iPhone but I'm not sure if this is the one for me.. i might have to wait this release out.

In confused, did they rename force touch? Or is it only called 3d touch for the iPhone? What's the difference?
It's quite simple really. They didn't want to put "old tech" into the iPhone (as in, tech released in the early part of the year). It is exactly the same tech, but this way people who don't know any better will think it's somehow special for the iPhone. Craig actually misspoke up on stage and called it Force Touch once. Pure marketing.

oh the dilemma to get the Rose Gold or not. Is it too pink.

also I would be surprised at 1GB as you can edit 4K video on this and gaming has come a long way

I don't have anything more to add. Just wanted to quote it so maybe it gets read more, because it's absolutely true and good advice to anybody looking to upgrade from an older model with a much older camera. It's downright unacceptable of Apple to do this, actually. So many customers are going to be frustrated.

The Magic is that they still use the A8 in the new Apple TV, then again, last years fastest would've been the A8X, so prob an incremental step from that I guess.
