So I have never purchased an iPhone at launch.

I assume that the pre-orders go live at 3:00 am EST for us in the US?

Can anyone confirm 2gb of RAM? That's a huge selling point for me because upgrading to a 6S+ from the 6+ isn't a huge upgrade unless the experience will be smoother, less buggy, less laggy, and more dynamic. I was hoping for that killer "S" feature. I guess that's 3D Touch/Force Touch?

My MBP has force touch, but it just adds gestures. When I saw photos of force touch on the MR blog, I saw it as if the screen dims the background and gives new options. Seems like Samsung has that? Or is the concept is different? Is it similar to Hepatic Feedback too?

Give it time, I'm sure it will be posted on the front page here.

And again Apple raised the prices for iPhones in Germany.. Now a 64GB 6s Plus costs around $200 more here than in the US. What's Tim doing with all that extra money..?!

Isn't there the VAT included in the price in Germany... Just saying... Of course, the Euro tanked which didn't help.

16 gb is great.... If you don't plan to take photos, shoot video, or download more than a few apps.

Unless of course you have a PC you can empty your media onto... but nobody has that, everyone keeps everything on their phone FOREVER.

Last time we had the RAM question, it turned out to be 1GB after someone tore the device apart and saw the SoC and RAM chipsets. Just hope Apple does the right thing and add more RAM.

I still don't understand why apple only revamp the phone and design only once every two years.

Android makers are able to change the design and vastly improve the hard ware every year.

For instance the note 3 to note 4 included a design change, vastly better screen and camera, better s-pen, more ram, more features etc.

Note 4 - note 5. In built ultra fast wireless charging, ultrafast charging, completely new ultra quality build, vastly improved chip set, improved camera, screen vastly more power efficient etc

And this is just Samsung, Apple are so slow updating there devices. Which is weird considering they pride themselves being the best inventors and innovators.

This update is a nothing update.

4k camera? Welcome to two years ago.

3d touch? Wacom is better for stylus support and most of the usage cases it seems they show can probably be implemented with a long press.

Yep, it says so on this page.. 8am on a Saturday morning :(.

Better than staying up till 3 am or waking up prior to 3 am to purchase a device. So people just purchase devices and they're delivered to homes? I don't want to be one of the folks camping for a phone.

More RAM == more power consumption, and not necessarily much more speed.
Faster solid state memory can easily provide a bigger improvement while reducing power consumption. I'm not saying that they've done this, but it's the kind of thing you should be looking for, not more RAM.

While I agree with what you are saying here, I am someone who always buys the 16gb model as I rarely take video with my phone (work as a videographer so have cameras for this) and don't download music or anything that takes up space. So I almost always have 4-6gb left on my phone. So I don't mind this cheaper or base model.

This isn't a "rarely take video and you'll be fine" situation. Photos are each twice the size of anything you've taken before (and maybe even a bit more if you use that beautiful new Live Photos feature). And I'm assuming since you already have an iPhone, you have a bunch of old data (including photos) you'll be importing, so you aren't going to be starting with the full storage capacity in the first place. It's great that you've been fine so far, but unless you never touch the App Store or the camera, 16GB means you'll be seeing that “Not enough storage space” error quite often. This hardware demands more storage capacity than Apple is giving you, and that's bound to be frustrating.

Not necessarily w/ more power consumption if the processor can compensate any issues to keep battery life consistent. I just want apps to stop refreshing too often. I would like to get the multi-tasking features like dual window too!

I'm curious why Apple didn't apply their MacBook battery tech in the iPhones. The terraced structure should help immensely with a bigger battery now that the battery's cut to make room for the taptic engine.

So that's a decision you have to make when buying, right? I'll most likely get the 16GB when I upgrade from my 5S in the fall, because I don't need to store everything on my phone. I prefer to sync with my Mac, changing playlists when I feel the need, and transfer photos to it while removing them from the phone. Are you saying I shouldn't have that option?

Really??? You think that some significant percentage of people buying phones give a crap about the amount of RAM they have? I'd be surprised if more than 5% even know what RAM is! Try to remember that you and everyone you know, or have ever talked to for more than a few seconds is still just a tiny fraction of a percentage of the numbers of people buying these things. You cannot rely on your "techie" experience in this.

people may not care about ram. but they care about their web pages in safari that keep refreshing randomly.

ohhh when ohhh when will Apple have true file management file structure. I would really love the ability to upload a picture or file no in the body of the email.

Does the insert photo/video command not serve one of those functions?

Yes, necessarily. RAM needs constant power, or it loses its information. That's one major difference between it and SSD memory. More RAM does mean more power consumption, even when you're not using it.
