I don't have anything more to add. Just wanted to quote it so maybe it gets read more, because it's absolutely true and good advice to anybody looking to upgrade from an older model with a much older camera. It's downright unacceptable of Apple to do this, actually. So many customers are going to be frustrated.

I am so underwhelmed. We knew everything beforehand so no surprises. The new pink colour in sickly...not the tasteful rose gold as on the watch. I am due my upgrade and just don't know what to do. Those white bands are still there ruining the design. None of the colours look attractive. If they had released a gold with black bands and front one or just proper space grey one could live with it... I like ios and so have remained loyal for 8 years I think now but have to say the new Samsungs seem better phones both from the point of view of specifications and of design. Disappointed and torn.

There was a rumor that you don't have to be plugged into a power source to use "hey siri". Does anyone know if its true? I haven't had a chance to watch the keynote yet.

More RAM == more power consumption, and not necessarily much more speed.
Faster solid state memory can easily provide a bigger improvement while reducing power consumption. I'm not saying that they've done this, but it's the kind of thing you should be looking for, not more RAM.

Even so, the iPad Air 2 still seemed to benefit from getting extra RAM.

It's true. With the new iPhones it doesn't need to be plugged into a power source to activate Siri.

Hello everybody. 'Really excited about the 'new' iPhone amd I've ordered two already. One to use. And another just in case the other one breaks down and I can't use it for a day. I particularly like the different coloured one. And that 7000 metal. And the jut-out camera. And that 'clicky' screen thing. Well worth uograding from my .... Oh no! What am I thinking? It's just the same phone as before with a load of kidology surrounding it. I should've waited til next year. Again. My missus is gonna kill me when she finds out!

This was the most interesting product launched today. But for me they still messed it up, not only with 16GB and 4K recording (Why Apple??), but also because even with a brand new camera module still ONLY the iPhone 6S PLUS has the optical image stabilisation function.
It will be an interesting comparison to see the cameras of the new Sony Xperia Z5 Compact vs the new iPhone 6S.

16GB as base storage in a world of 12mp cameras, live photos, 4k video, and huge games isn't just greedy, it's a design flaw.

one can argue that iCloud should be the destination for your 12MB photos, live phots and 4k videos ... should leave plenty of room for your huge games. Not a fan of 16GB base but that is probably why they don't want to make it higher than that.

One page of Apple's website says both phones have Optic Image/Video Stabilization. The other page says that it is only a feature on the 6s+ I hope they can clear this. Because i want OIS

Nope, only the 6S Plus has OIS:

http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/specs/

New 12-megapixel iSight camera with 1.22µ pixels

Live Photos

Autofocus with Focus Pixels

Optical image stabilization (iPhone 6s Plus only)

True Tone flash

Panorama (up to 63 megapixels)

Did they really need 90% faster graphics? Probably for the Plus versions. The CPU being 70% faster is also a big jump. I was not expecting that kind of jump this year.
The S upgrades are always the big internal upgrades, the non S ones are mostly just a redesign and similar specs to the previous years model so it shouldn't be too surprising.

So that's a decision you have to make when buying, right? I'll most likely get the 16GB when I upgrade from my 5S in the fall, because I don't need to store everything on my phone. I prefer to sync with my Mac, changing playlists when I feel the need, and transfer photos to it while removing them from the phone. Are you saying I shouldn't have that option?

Not only do I not think Apple should cater to people who want to do that, I don't think Apple believes you should have that option at all. They haven't designed their software with that use case in mind, and I imagine individually deleting photos off your iPhone is actually really annoying for you--having to delete everything, individually, from your phone AND from your iCloud library? AND having to manually do it, regularly, before your phone's limited fills up? That's sort of a bizarre way for them to have set up their software if they expected people would be doing that, don't you think?

But of course, what I'm advocating for is Apple making the base level of the phone have more storage, not for the base level of the phone to cost more. So what you want (for some unknowable reason) is not mutually exclusive.

I like my devices to have plenty of storage. I want to be able to keep what I want on them with out running out of space, or having to send my files to a "cloud" where I have no control over it's security. Looks like I'll be getting the 128GB iPhone 6s Plus

The iPhone 6 (which is the one I'd want since the 6+ is too big with all the bezels) is still only 750p, still doesn't have OIS and still is only f/2.2 with no mention of ram, if it's a tri core or battery size...

It's so disappointing, all they've done that is new is the pressure touch, which tbh I don't care about since most of those gestures they showed have been done without it on other platforms.

Not impressed and I still don't get why they insist on making it so thin that a 1/3 sensor needs a camera bump :\ Bit pathetic.

I'm going to save my money, if Windows Phone offers nothing compelling this year, I'll just get an LG G4 or something, it'll probably be £280 by November any ways, much cheaper than the £620 a 64GB iPhone 6 would cost.
