As promised, here are the pictures of the Hardgraft "Wild" iPhone sleeve (https://www.hardgraft.com/collections/iphone). The one pictured is "Classic Leather" for a 12 Pro Max.

The color is off here as the sleeve is actually a darker brown than pictured here. Phone slides in easily, holds cards on both sides of the phone if desired. It has the ability to charge through the bottom if desired as it has a small opening on the bottom. Phone stays safely in case, but I wouldn't try to throw it out as I'm sure it would go flying out of here with enough effort. Sleeve is a little bigger than I would have hoped, but definitely an improvement over the the Apple one IMO which makes even the mini "big". Leather quality is nice and I feel like it will only get better over time. Best sleeve that I've found for an iPhone in a long time but it carries a high price with that as well. If you were considering the Apple option, I would definitely go with this if you are going to spend that much money.

Happy to help with questions.

What does it look like at back where the camera bump sticks out? The Apple sleeve has a specific bulge

You can feel it but it's just a slight bump. Sleeve cases normally haven't had "bulges" for the camera.

@AppleRobert, and everyone else that’s going caseless with the sleeve. How has the sleeve been treating you all so far? Hopefully (fingers crossed) mine will be delivered tomorrow for the regular 12 in Saddle Brown. I ordered directly from Apple since I received a couple of Apple gift cards as early Christmas gifts.

1. Has the leather softened up a bit?

2. How many cards are you able to store? 2-3 cards?

2. Has anyone had trouble using a screen protector? I currently have a Spigen glass screen protector on my 12.

Thanks in advance!

1. It has softened up just a little. I don’t handle the case all the time so it will probably take me longer to see significant results.

2. You can store 3 (max) regular size and thickness credit cards

3. I am using a iCarez full size privacy screen with no problems.

The phone still looks new from what I can see and still enjoying holding and using the phone naked.

Nice! I’ve been using my 12 caseless since yesterday morning and it’s been pretty nice using the phone as is. I have been transporting it using a microfiber pouch meant for sunglasses though.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm back with some thoughts on my latest sleeve - this time the Lucrin "Classic Case".

  • Yellow is less bright then pictured, more of a "sunflower' yellow. Lots of colors to chose from though,
  • Leather feels great, soft texture. Very soft interior.
  • Sleeve is more fitted than the one from Hardgraft. A bit tougher to get phone in and out but it's already starting to break in.
  • Slightly smaller profile compared to Hardgraft.
  • No room for cards on this version, although they do offer a version with external card storage.
  • Camera bump is more noticeable on this sleeve due to the more fitted structure. (see 2nd picture)
Pleased with both sleeves, I feel like each has slight advtages over the other. The Lucrin is probably a better value though based on the price + shipping of the Hardgraft.

How do the sizes compare to the Apple sleeve?

Thanks for the write up! I was looking at Lucrin last night.
How would you rate the leather quality? Is it similar or better than the apple leather wallet or sleeve?

I like the Apple leather (have a couple of their items) but I feel the Lucrin feels and looks nicer. One big thing for me is that the Apple sleeve also adds so much bulk compared to some of these others.

You just made me spend $89. Thank you :)

Apple leather sleeve durability questionable.

I’ve had the sleeve for few days now and dropped it yesterday from waist height with my 12 inside of it. I just noticed a tear in the bottom part of the sleeve where the sharp edge of the 12’s frame took the impact. Now, after looking at where the tear is; I’m not to sure the sleeve is entirely leather. The transition from leather to, what seems to be vinyl, is all one piece. There’s no glue or stitching to separate the two materials. So, that tells me that the leather is actually two pieces of vinyl stitched together. Or, this is the cheapest leather know to man that resembles vinyl. I’ve also had leather products that have not torn this easily when dropped or abused since the fibers is what makes leather stronger than vinyl. The back of the sleeve feels similar to this years apple cases which do feel cheap and like plastic. I’m thinking the top panel of the sleeve is indeed leather while the back is the same material used on the regular leather cases. The front panel is much thicker and smells of leather while the back panel does not smell of leather and feels synthetic. I’ve attached a couple of pictures of the tear on the bottom of the sleeve. After the drop, there is damage done to my 12 where it landed right at the corner where the sleeve tore. It’s a scrape/gouge that isn’t to noticeable unless you really look for it.

This is rather distressing. Too bad the sleeve is so delicate.

That’s disappointing. Seems like apple really cheaped out this year. Glad we have a Nomad, Burkley or Bullstrap to step up and answer the call in this time of need.

I am using a full screen glass screen protector with no problems.

Which screen protector are you using?

My iPhone 12 pro Max had a problem with the screen protector being lifts on the top left corner of the screen when inserting the phone into leather sleeve and when removing.

It may be possible that all sleeves are not the same. Some may be tighter than the order.

If it helps, I’m using the Spigen ez fit glass screen protector on my 12. No issues with it lifting while using the sleeve.

I currently have the iCarez privacy screen on my mini.

Well this is just sad. Push for a replacement I say. And since you say few days just return and get a new one. No need to live with this when it’s a few days old.

May be only the pro max version is more tight.

I have the Pro Max and I had the screen protector lifted just like the reviewer in this video.

Then that is not a glass screen protector.

Glass screen protector has a problem with this sleeve.
My screen is glass.

My apologies.

Then it is possible that like the reviewer in this video mentioned that the Pro Max model is very tight compared to the mini and the smaller pro model.

That is plausible. The Saddle Brown sleeve I returnedd wasn't as tight as the Citrus was when I got it. I chalk that up to the normal difference in individual leather products.
