Quick QOL update from me on the Hardgraft Sleeve. The leather is wearing in nice and it's feeling softer by the day. The only thing about this sleeve I didn't consider is that one side of the sleeve is slightly higher than the other since its stitched on one side. I tend to use my sleeve as a "coaster" when my phone is out of my pocket so I have a place to set my phone down instead of using a rough surface. The phone tends to slide to that stitched side. This has started happening less since the sleeve is starting to flatten out from use.

Two pictures to show updates.

My sleeve no longer makes an audible chime when inserting the phone. It really isn't important to me that it does but, wanted to provide an update on the case (which still looks new albeit softer) to those looking on.
Reboot the phone, the case doesn’t make the noise, the phone does. Mine did that, but a phone reboot solved it

How tight does the phone fit inside of the sleeve? Does it grab it tightly like the Apple sleeve does? I’m considering alternatives before I buy another Apple sleeve for my mini.

My MagSafe case also stopped out of the blue, don’t even use it that much. Oh well.

I hope they have a non magsafe option next year. And make the mini a pro category device. Those would be two awesome changes in my book!

Judging by the how the 12 mini went, I doubt a pro mini.
MagSafe is good, gen 1 is wonky

Here’s to hoping for a mini pro. I suppose magsafe is good, if a little wonky. I personally don’t have a practical use case for it that isn’t already sufficiently addressed by other options. In fact the only major change is the that it would lock me into the magsafe ecosystem unnecessarily.

I feel like the Apple was tighter. I don't feel unsafe with the this one though - it's secure enough that it doesn't feel like it's going to fly out and easy enough to remove. If you try to get it to fly though it will.

Day 1 with the Torro leather sleeve for the mini. This sleeve is very nice for the price and is full on leather. For only $37 shipped via Amazon; this is what Apple’s leather sleeve should aspire to for the $130 price tag.

I'm back with some thoughts on my latest sleeve - this time the Lucrin "Classic Case".

  • Yellow is less bright then pictured, more of a "sunflower' yellow. Lots of colors to chose from though,
  • Leather feels great, soft texture. Very soft interior.
  • Sleeve is more fitted than the one from Hardgraft. A bit tougher to get phone in and out but it's already starting to break in.
  • Slightly smaller profile compared to Hardgraft.
  • No room for cards on this version, although they do offer a version with external card storage.
  • Camera bump is more noticeable on this sleeve due to the more fitted structure. (see 2nd picture)
Pleased with both sleeves, I feel like each has slight advtages over the other. The Lucrin is probably a better value though based on the price + shipping of the Hardgraft.

@outsidah Would you please post a pic or two with the phone inside the Lucrin case? I would like to see how far into the case the phone fits. Thanks.

For which model 12? Be ready, the leather smell is intoxicating. To this day, just passing by the sleeve I’m able to catch the scent.
For the max. I’ll love that smell. I’m one of those people who look around to make sure the coast is clear then go sniffing my Bullstrap case.

How’s your sleeve holding up so far? Are you using it exclusively or swapping between cases and the sleeve?
